I Am 23-Year-Personal Narrative
I am 23 years old and I have a story to tell. When I was a child I made a decision to silence my voice, the pain I felt from losing my father was too strong for my young, innocent heart to bare. I became an insecure, fearful being. I struggled through these illusions of my persona for over 12 years. When I turned 21 my son was born and I began to see life differently. l am persistent, obstinate and no longer fearful. When I strive for my goals I am now able to accomplish them. I want to make up for lost time and create a substantial life. I will benefit from this Fellows program immensely. I do not have a mentor for my field of study and I can greatly use one. I plan to receive my associate's degree in Nursing at LaGuardia Community College.
