Hunting
Did you know that more than 38 million Americans hunt each year? Even with this large number of people hunting some think it should be outlawed, because without hunting, the animal population would get overpopulated, and also because it provides food for families, hunting should continue to be allowed.

If we didn't hunt, then the animal population would get over populated. National horse and burro rangeland management coalition states that Horse and burro populations are currently too high and threaten native species and ecosystems. Furthermore if we don't take car of the population then they might become even more populated. Manassas Journal Messenger says that the coyote population

Missouri Department of Conservation Through Share the Harvest, Missouri hunters can help provide those in need. Now after share your harvest people in need can come in and get meat for free with high-quality protein in the form of deer meat, which is naturally lean. Nearly 2.8 million pounds of game meat made its way to shelters, food banks and church kitchens and onto the plates of those in need. Furthermore a lot of families rely on deer meat from people and if they don't get the meat then they would be able to provide for their family. According to St. Louis Public Radio "They donate either all or part of deer they harvest, and the meat goes to hungry folks and families in need in the St. Louis area. Many animals endure prolonged, painful deaths when they are injured but not killed by hunters. What the author fails to consider is that most people that hunt are not hunting to just kill most are trying to feed there family or put meat in there fridge. According to peta the delicate balance of ecosystems ensures their survival if they are left unaltered. Natural predators help maintain this balance by killing only the sickest and weakest individuals. Hunters, however, kill any animal whose head they would like to hang over the fireplace including large, healthy animals who are needed to keep the population strong. Although this may be true the ecosystem is going to kill off populations a lot slower than kill animals such as deer are self, killing isn't bad if you using the deer for good causes. On private lands that are set up as for-profit hunting reserves or game ranches, hunters can pay to kill native and exotic species in “canned hunts.” This is true, but people that go out and hunt in canned hunts usually after they kill a deer they give the meat to share your harvest and help families in need. In conclusion hunting should continue to be allowed because without it, the animal population would get overpopulated, and also it provides food for families. If hunting becomes illegal or even more regulated, some animal populations would sky rocket and a lot of the hunting community would get

Some reasons several people believe that sport hunting is okay and necessary is because they think it reduces population and teaches people how to survive in the wilderness. It is fair to have this opinion, since if you are on a plane that crashes, or get lost in the woods on a trip, you would have the skills to hunt. Also, since human population is constantly increasing, getting rid of a few animals will guarantee humans have more space to expand, and will prevent animals from taking over.…

Hunting is not bad. It keeps the animal numbers at a level the habitat can support. Without hunting, deer and other animals would become endangered because there would not be enough food to go around. The protection of the herd, the habitat, and its management determines when hunting is allowed. Hopefully the meat garnered from a hunt is used and not discarded. Deer hunting isn't bad. Most people think it is because animals die. Well, consider this, when you take a step, you kill 2,000,000,000 living things. Also, the typical deer, when shot, takes under a minute to die. Cows, when slaughtered, take eight minutes, fourteen seconds on average. Now, when most people think of hunters, they…

The NRA-ILA (National Rifle Association-Institute for Legislative Action) is made up of a team of lobbyists who are constantly fighting to suppress any piece of anti-gun legislation that threatens the 2nd amendment. The 2nd amendment is, for obvious reasons, very important to hunters. It secures the right to gun ownership which is vital to all hunters. The NRA is also actively involved in securing hunting as a legal right, not simply as a privilege. In Oklahoma, the state legislature passed this NRA backed motion with an overwhelming 143-2 vote. The legislature urged voters to go to the polls and they responded with an 80% approval of the motion. Now Arizona, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Tennessee are working to have the right to hunt written into the state constitutions. This goes to show that an, overwhelming majority of people sympathize with hunters or are hunters themselves and wish for the continuance of their…

In 2008, sixty seven percent of murders were committed in the United States with guns, sixty seven percent is 10,886 out of 16,272 crimes that involved guns. (Agresti, James D) More gun control could decrease that number significantly. Gun constrictions will not hinder Americans hunting or hobbies, it will help stop the shooter from getting guns. Even though people think that guns are not a problem, there needs to be more restrictions on guns because it would decrease shootings and mass murders, it would reduce deaths and injuries associated with guns, and civilians do not need semi-automatic weapons.…

According to Macdonald (2000) “hunted animals may show measurable indications of stress” (page 32). This is because the number of individuals that being hunted down are more than those individuals that being reproduce. When the extinction keep going on, it will cause instability of the overall ecosystem that lead to reduce in biodiversity and affect the food chains among the consequent extinct species. For example, the hunting of foxes (Vulpes vulpes) with dogs in the UK, outlawed in 2004, evolved out of the wish to control foxes as a livestock/poultry pest, but became a ritualized socio-cultural activity in which the original aim of killing foxes was overshadowed or replaced by the thrill of the chase (Heydon & Reynolds, 2000). From the statement above, we believe that hunt animal for unnecessary will lead to…

Picture sitting in school while people next to you possess guns. Though this may sound a bit farfetched, it can happen. Due to the second amendment of the Constitution, one has the right to bear arms. It is reasonable that people would want access to guns for the sport of hunting though. But allowing people to "carry" guns is reckless. Firearms should be outlawed because they have granted children access to kill easily, inflated the murder rate in the United States, were created to kill, and have inflated the murder rate in the United States.…

Although hunting has been a part of American culture for decades, it is becoming detrimental to animal species, and therefore, needs to be more regulated. Animals such as deer and bear are reasonable to hunt for their source of meat. This can be considered practical, but species can become endangered. Prior to hunting season, each hunter is required to obtain a permit for each animal. Reports have showed hunters illegally killing their animals whether it be the issue of permits or using weapons not prohibited at the time. Consequences are to follow, but there still seems to be a continuous decrease in animal species. Regulation of permits can ensure issues such as these. Personally, I have seen a decrease of wildlife among my area before hunting…

In the early 1900’s, many animal populations were decreasing in numbers. According to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, several species of animals were at all-time lows (Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation). Today, these animals are now thriving with the thanks to hunters. The funding coming from licenses and gear have allowed for more development of animal habitats. For many years, animal habitats had been reducing year after year because of agricultural fields and urban developments. With the funding that hunters bring in, many programs and groups have emerged to save the habitat. One such group is the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF). The NWTF has a ten-year plan to preserve or create four million acres of upland habitat and to open 500,000 more acres of land for public hunting use. Several other organizations formed to preserve land and animals are Pheasants Forever, Ducks Unlimited, and the Quality Deer Management Association. Hunting is also good for the conservation of animals. It’s known that hunting is one of the only ways to control the population of an animal. If deer were to go un-hunted for a decade or so, there would be an overpopulation in deer. If overpopulation were to occur, then food sources would be scarce. Lack of food sources would then cause deer to starve to death. Not only would the deer population suffer, but other species that live alongside the deer will quickly die. Since we continue to hunt, animal population and food sources are kept at a steady balance. A true example of this is shown through the August goose season in Minnesota. In 2013, data from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) showed that the Canada goose population in the state had increased to record numbers. The DNR feared that the high population would cause a shortage of food and increased damage to farmer’s crops. Furthermore, in August of 2013, the DNR opened an intensive harvest zone, covering…

Humans to started to influence the deer population beginning with migration into southern Michigan. At this time the deer population was primarily in the south, because of unregulated shooting and logging by early settlers, it forced the deer population into the North. As recorded by the DNR, “Logging camps of 100 to 200 men used venison as the primary source of meat for months at a time. Railroads that had been developed to facilitate the timber market also provided transportation of game meat to Eastern markets (DNR, 2017).” The deer population fell to nearly nothing by 1870, as a result many started to perform research, leading to the regulation of hunting, so by 1930 there was a recognized “abundance of deer”. “Mr. Llo Bartlett, the state's first deer biologist, reported that there were 1.125 million deer in the state in 1937” (DNR, 2017). This increase in the deer population caused many problems for the state of Michigan.…
