Accordingly, to the journal, Human Trafficking: The Role of the Healthcare Provider, victims of trafficking have health problems due to extreme stress, deprivation of foods, physical and sexual abuse, and so on. Afterwards, there are symptoms of PTSD, addiction, etc. The provider often comes in contact with women who are still captured, and they can play a role in identifying and looking for possible clues in a victim. Warning signs can be that the female has a hard time moving around or can’t leave her job, bruises or other signs of battering, poor language skills, not be able to identify themselves, and the fear of deportation. Mostly, the victim lives in a state of fear, and she will not take the first step to talk. It can be difficult be spoken with her alone, but that is what the provider should strive for. When the woman is set free, the provider should make a treatment plan, and depending on the victim take figure out what further legal actions to take in able to help the female. (Dovydaitis)
