Hulk Hogan wasn't just an ordinary guy "Brother". He's really something, especially outside of the wrestling ring. The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Famer had recently been involved in the celebrity sex scandal tape. The lawsuit really changed everything, especially for Hulk Hogan. Good for him, he won the $140 million lawsuit from Gawker after he was alleged to have sex with his friend's wife. They just publish it without their consent, in which it's the real turning point for Hulk Hogan and his family. Gawker has gone bankrupt, and they sold it to Univision after they shut it down. Scandal specialists and fixers were kept employed by keeping the celebrity sex scandal tape of the stars like Hulk Hogan. The business begins to slow down as celebrities started not to use their services anymore. It means they're no longer concerned of …show more content…
Not only that, he also declared bankruptcy at the same time. It's one tiny move that he's going to regret once and for all. Gawker's business has changed when news outlets gained access to these sex pics and videos. This is what Kevin Blatt has said, who is a crisis manager that helps in terms of making these nude pictures and sex tapes disappear for good. He added that there's a blog owner who decided to use offshore holdings for his personal assets, in order not to get sued personally like Denton.

It seems that not only Hulk Hogan isn't the only one who experienced this kind of situation. Vivid Entertainment co-chairman and owner, Steven Hirsch, published the sex tapes of celebrities Farrah Abraham and Kim Kardashian without prior consent to either of them. He just claimed that it's all business. He added that there was no effect on celebrity sex tapes in Gawker's case. It's an idea to create a scenario like this whether these tapes are allowed for publication, and it will never change the game. Once again, it is all about

For instance, Tiger Woods’s scandal agitated a media madness, forcing some of his sponsors (Gillette, Accenture, and Gatorade,) to drop him. Knittel and Stango (2010) found that, in a week after Tiger Wood’s scandal came into light, organizations whose products were endorsed by him, encountered major drop in stock market, in respect to both the stock market and the competitor organizations. But this book is just a paint-by-numbers celebrity memoir that was put out as a cash grab when wrestling books were selling really well. It took nothing more than a few days of speaking into microphone for The Rock, and maybe two or three weeks of writing for the co-author to churn out. Beyond that, he was 27 years old when it was published–it is exceedingly rare for anyone that age to have anything to say. If you aren’t a huge Rock fan, there is no reason to read this book. And even if you are a huge fan…I still don’t see much of a reason to read this…

I have read several online articles concerning the sexual abuse cases perpetrated by Jerry Sandusky and the obvious negligence of the top four administrators (Joe Paterno, Timothy Curley, Gary Shultz, and Graham Spanier) to report Sandusky to the authorities. I always thought that Penn State was an excellent university and am surprised and shocked that such serious unethical conduct was tolerated for such a long time. (Wikipedia states that “Sandusky was indicted in 2011 on 52 counts of child molestation dating from 1994 to 2009, though the abuse may have dated as far back as the 1970s”) (1). I agree with several statements in the article…

    Peyton Manning Summary

    • 1475 Words
    • 6 Pages

This article is a prime example of this detrimental movement of journalism, as it not only covers the illicit crime of sexual assault, but also mainly focuses around a widely known celebrity’s personal involvement. Within CNN’s coverage of the sexual assault law suit brought forth by the students of the University of Tennessee, the media outlet participated in the production of soft journalism by highlighting Manning’s involvement within the article’s title even though his involvement played an insignificant role regarding the current issues at the school. The article titled, “Peyton Manning mentioned in title IX lawsuit against University of Tennessee” is an obvious ploy by CNN to hopefully increase the success of the article by initially linking it to a celebrity figure. This trend within news production is explained in From Hard to Soft News Standards, as Plasser (2005) describes within the sphere of journalism, “A shift toward lifestyle, celebrity, entertainment and celebrity crime/scandal in the news and away from government and foreign affairs.” (p. 48) The issue that accompanies this type of journalism is the threat to…
