Prewriting consists or is about generating your ideas, establishing purpose, identifying the audience, and ordering your ideas. During the prewriting stage you should take notes, make lists, and capture your ideas. Another stage of the writing process is drafting. Drafting consists of creating the body paragraph following the prewriting order, and creating the introductory and the concluding paragraphs. During the drafting stage, the writer should read over all the text and choose his ideas, sentences, and paragraphs that best describe the concept. The last prewriting stage is revising. Revising consist of rewriting from the reader’s POV, analyzing and changing paragraph and sentence organization, editing to improve word choice, grammar, usage, and punctuation, and proofreading for typos and surface errors. During this stage the writer has to shift focus and try to see the text as a reader.

Jose Urbina Sundol Aug 29, 2014 WRC 1013.005 My high school my writing process was very alike to the process my classmates would practice. I would get my ideas from my life experience or classmates. A tool that really help me organized my thoughts was the web organizer with all the ideas I would brainstorm. I would let out my thoughts and would try to organize them the best way possible following the outline that I was going to utilize. I would ask my teachers and sisters, who have much more experience to proofread my rough draft. A problem I saw in my writing was my usage of words and my punctuation. As following the writing process it extended the essay a week more but it was well done. Problems that I would approach with, was organizing my writing in a form to make it clear. Post your assignment, Review the additional resources Today I am going to discuss the steps I take to write a paragraph. Before I do anything, I make sure I have a quiet area to work in and a clear mind so my writing process begins smoothly. I sit in front of my laptop and begin writing what I would like to talk about, which is called discovering and brainstorming. Then after I have done that I start narrowing down what I want to write about such as: Topic sentence and supportive details. After this, I usually go on to compose a rough draft pretty quickly. By drafting what I have written, It allows me to take out the things that strike me as worth keeping or not. Then after I have done that I revise the draft by rearranging ideas and reshaping sentences to make clearer connections. Carefully after examining the paper to see that it contains any errors of grammar, spelling, or punctuation for the last time I write a final paper. Personal Essay Prewriting The five steps of the writing process are equally vital to the succession of any writing assignment, whether it is for work or school. The five stages include PREWRITING, PLANNING, DRAFTING, REVISING, and PROOFREADING. Moreover, constructing a strong paper that is well-written (no matter how tedious it seems), requires efficaciously executing all five phases. My tutoring session came at the near the end of my writing process, but it could be helpful at any point. In particular, I was in the Editing stage, as presented by James D. Williams in Preparing to Teach Writing. The other stages are Invention, Planning, Drafting or scribing, Pausing, Reading and rereading, Revising, Editing, and lastly Publishing. Editing is the stage where grammar and punctuation matter the most. Until this stage, the focus of the author is to get their ideas on the page and to organize their thoughts. Nevertheless, no matter how important these stages are, the stages can be grouped together to form a more coherent idea, and sometimes authors do not go in this exact order, but rather jump or linger, in one or…

A writing process is the most important step that I learned in this class. First of all, before writing a complete essay, I need to come up with the pre-writing which consists of free writing and brainstorming. I found this step essential because free writing helps me find as many supports and examples as possible and brainstorming allows me to organize and strengthen the structure of the essay. Moreover, writing everything related to the topic during prewriting steps helps me find more supporting details to put into the next step. I then use the step of brainstorming to map main ideas for an essay’s body…

The writing process does not end with your first draft. Revising means “seeing again” and that is exactly what you do when you revise—you see your writing again from as many different angles as possible. More specifically, revising your writing means working with it so that it says exactly what you mean in the most effective way. Revision involves both content (what you are trying to say) and form (how you deliver your message). Revising content consists of working with your words until they express your ideas as accurately and completely as possible. Revising form consists of working with the organization of your writing.…
