The First Day Experience of Adobe
Illustrator
Adobe Illustrator (AI) CS6 is on-screen designing software which looks simple but when it comes to using it to create a design, you lose interest in no time. However, I was patient and most importantly determined to do what I have been assigned to do.
On 14th October, 2013 I started off with unimaginable excitement that I will learn the basics of AI but there were few problems I encountered in my first experience of using Adobe Illustrator CS6.
Firstly, I had to browse online extensively to find out if there were any professional institutes which can train me to use Adobe Illustrator CS6 within 3 months since that is the duration of my HRM 370 course. But unfortunately there are many institutes especially for graphic designing but none for solely training Adobe Illustrator. As a result, I had to take help from an acquaintance who has enough three years of experience in using this particular software and had been an Assistant Designer of the magazine “Green Reflection”.
Secondly, installing Adobe Illustrator CS6 was like a challenge to me because I had to crack the code in order to run the software on my laptop. Getting the original copy of the software is really expensive. So, I took the software from a friend but failed twice to install the program since it did not follow the normal installation process. Feeling helpless, I called my friend up and acted as per his instructions. Finally, I was successful in the installation process, in the second attempt.
After the installation, at first I went through the video tutorials on AI CS4 and in no time I lost interest and fell asleep while trying to follow the instructions of the tutor. I realized that it will take me long time to get the hand of it. Therefore, without wasting
I went to my trainer’s place at Banani and took my first lesson from her. Initially she showed me how to design the simplest invitation card that are made for club events
