On one side of my family, there are well educated people who know their responsibilities and understand right from wrong, and on the other side there are troublemakers who seek to enjoy themselves as much as possible (with the exception of a few) with little to no responsibilities. During a major part of my childhood, I had been best friends with one of those cousins for a long time, to the point where I myself became one of those troublemakers, until he took matters too far by committing actions he should never have done, so I had to make one of the most difficult choices as a kid: we could no longer be best friends. My entire life has been a struggle with situations like these, and having to find myself new friends …show more content…
Acting eventually became a distraction from my everyday struggles, usually becoming the highlight of my day. Soon enough, I realized that my imagination was growing wilder. I had exhausted all of my real life personas in mind and was struggling to find more, until one day, I realized that I would need to find another way to portray my imagination: writing. Through writing, not only could I portray a certain character, but I could also leave them a mystery, open for the interpretations of others. I am able to create pieces of work that not only resembles the way that I feel, but also relates to the struggles that I share with others. Writing and acting isn’t just something I like to do because it’s fun, but it’s my way of showing people the many different aspects of our world, of my world. I use my writing to show people the several ways that I see the things around me, as well as the things that I cannot see, but wish to. As said in one of my favorite shows, the real stories are the ones that are

In the past a thousand weeks, I feel like I have accomplished a great deal. As the quarter ends, I find myself reflecting not only how I have survived my fifth quarter but also what I have learned. The most important thing I have learned so far is how to become a better writer. I did not think it could really happen to me. I did not think I could handle all the work. I did not think I could actually become a better writer. Somehow, after all the hours of writing, and putting effort into my papers that I wrote in this quarter, I became a better writer. I did this because I concentrated on two very important areas. With help from an awesome teacher and my partner, I have become a better writer by improving my skills in the areas of procrastination and content.…

Currently, I use writing in my career for reports, email responses, and monthly summary reports that I'm required to do and send to my superiors. My reports are for arrest, stats, current personnel assignments, and manpower hours. I have to send business type emails to my superiors several times a week with information they have to report to the Sheriff. Several of these documents are used for legal proceedings and must be error free. Writing in my career has increased. It seems there is a new form or added information that needs to be included with my reports, which requires more writing very month or so.…

Passionately fuelled by the multiple forms of the creative arts, for years I have dreamt of contributing to the world of creative writing. For about a decade I have found myself relaxed putting pen to paper, expressing my inner thoughts, whether for my own sense of pastoral care, or as a way of articulating ideas. I find that writing gives me the freedom to create my own world, create characters who bend by my rule and circumstances I find. At risk of sounding similar to a control freak, I find pleasure in knowing that everything is how I want it to be and I am in control. Despite this, I also get excited at the idea of following my characters on their adventures and experiences, almost to the point of which they write themselves.…

Music has changed my life forever. In middle school, I was extremely timid and exceptionally quiet. I was never involved in school activities or sports. I showed up, did my work, and went home. One day, I heard about the band program and thought to myself “That sounds cool.” The sound of the bright brass trumpet, jazzy sounding saxophone, and the ravishing tone of the flute. I registered for band class through my school administration. Enthusiastic, yet, anxious. On the first day of band class I discovered many different instruments. Different designs, sounds, and techniques of playing. My band teacher played a short clip of each different instrument being played by competent musicians, with the intention of having us pick the instrument that…

Learning to be an adequate writer has always been a journey for me. I can recall many moments in my life where I struggled with writing. I would often spend countless hours pondering on what I should write about and felt that it was very difficult to come up with ideas to produce a coherent piece of writing. With guidance and practice, I was able to improve my writing style and become a better writer. However this ordeal was not an easy task. I can recall periods in my educational years where I felt the need to improve my vocabulary. I felt that I must complete this task because good writers were ones that had the ability to express themselves to the best of their abilities. By having a strong diction, it would be easier for me relate my ideas and produce strong writing. Thus, I allocated a good portion of my studies to learn vocabulary.…
