TITLE: HOW VIDEO GAMES AFFECT TEENAGER’S BEHAVIOR?
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY:
In this study we will know how video games affect teenager’s behavior. The video game industry is now over 30 years old. They are a unique form of entertainment, because they encourage teenagers to become a part of the game. Given the fact that video games are able to have several positive effects, it should come as no surprise that they also have negative effects on the behavior of the teenagers. Much of the attention to video game research has been negative; focusing on potential harm related to addiction, aggression and lowered school performance. In this research, both of this behavior will be discussed. Video games have come a long way since today's adults sat down at a computer to play. The newest-generation gaming consoles are as powerful as personal computers, and can accomplish many of the same things. And today's games are increasingly realistic and technologically advanced. Social networking has even made its way into the video game industry with online gaming. Educational games have been specifically designed to teach adults about a certain subject expand concepts, reinforce development, or assist in learning a skill as the game is being played. The most widely used positive impact video games are said to have on teenagers is that they may improve a player’s manual dexterity and computer literacy. An argument can be made that limited use of video games, including violent games; can have a positive role in a teen's behavior. Violent games involve helping others or saving people from an enemy and being a "hero." This could produce positive behavior in some teenagers such as an increased desire to help, protect and care for other people. If playing violent games is a shared activity among friends or family, it can increase social skills and sharing behavior in teens.
