How To Write An Essay On Echo Park Case

Echo Park “Echo Park” is a novel published in 2006 and written by Michael Connelly about a detective named Harry Bosch. In the story Bosch tries to solve a case from 1993 where a girl named Marie Gesto went missing after she walks out of a supermarket in Hollywood and never turned up dead or alive and Bosch has been haunted by the case ever since. Michael puts the readers on the edge of their seats as they read through this crime fiction, mystery. The novel “Echo Park” first takes place in 1993 where a car linked to a missing person cased of a girl named Marie Gesto is found parked in the garage of the high tower apartments in Hollywood. Waits tries to make an agreement where he will confess to the murder of Marie Gesto and other murders to get out of the death penalty. This makes Harry get back in the case and find out if Waits is scamming the confession or is telling the truth. “Echo Park” is made up of suspense, action, murder mystery, and a little bit of romance. The story begins to add romance to the story when Harry meets up with Rachel Willing to discuss the case. When Harry first sees Rachel he says that she looked good and his mind jumps back to that night in Vegas (56). This creates the sense of a little romance and feelings between the two. Mystery builds when Bosch goes to where waits was found with the body parts. At the scene Bosch says “why Echo Park? He lived closer to Griffith Park and that would’ve been a better place for burying or dumping bodies” (44). This statement shows that Bosh believes that waits was going to bury the bodies in Echo park butt the cops got to him before. The statement also gives the reader some thought to why waits didn’t bury the bodies in Griffith Park and creates questions like if Waits was going to bury the bodies in Echo Park
