President John F. Kennedy was killed in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. He was the 35th president of the United States, and he was born on May 29, 1917. When he was killed he was in a Lincoln convertible driving down a parade route. The supposed killer Lee Harvey Oswald fired three shots, hitting two of the shots. One of the three shots hit Governor Connally, the other fatally struck the President. Both were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and 30 minutes later President Kennedy died in the hospital. The day after the assassination, the new President Lyndon Johnson made his first proclamation, making November 25 the day that they mourn the President the United States had lost.
