How To Write An Essay About Abraham Lincoln's Assassination

Throughout American history there has been a total of four assassinated presidents out of the 43 men who have served as presidents of the United States of America. Abraham Lincoln was the first to be assassinated followed by James Garfield, William McKinley, and John F. Kennedy. All four of these assassinations took a toll on the country, and caused much grief throughout the nation. Abraham Lincoln was shot on April 14, 1865 while he was attending a play at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC. At the time of Lincoln’s assassination, a body guard by the name of John Parker was supposed to be protecting Lincoln. However, Parker was a drunk and left the theatre to have a few alcoholic drinks. McKinley was shot by Leon Czolgosz, an architect who believed McKinley was the symbol of oppression. Czolgosz felt it was his responsibility as an architect to assassinate McKinley in order to help the country. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 outside the Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. Kennedy was shot from long range while he was riding through the streets of downtown Dallas in a motorcade. Upon being shot, Kennedy was rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital and died shortly thereafter. Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassinator, was shot and killed by Jack Ruby before Oswald received a trial.
