How To Write An Argumentative Essay On Abortion
The Devil has made abortion one of the most controversial topics of today, when it shouldn't even be up for debate in the first place. With all excuses and theories set aside, you will still be faced with the question: “Is it truly the better option to end the life of your unborn child than to give him or her up to have a chance at life?” If you don't know already, there are basically these two perspectives on abortion. The first is that abortion is the murder of an unborn child. The second is that abortion is the disposing of a cluster of cells before it becomes an inconvenience. Think about that second definition, and realize how appalling it is to describe a developing human as a cluster of cells. It is degrading the value of human life, …show more content…
By the time the mother even realizes she is pregnant, her baby contains its own set of DNA. In a matter of a few short weeks, the baby has a heartbeat of its own, along with developing organs. At 25 weeks, the baby has regular brain waves and activity. Therefore, the popular argument that a pregnant woman can take the life of her baby because its, “part of her body,” is ridiculous. The baby is its own separate person with its own rights. I recently saw a video of a 20-year-old woman describing her abortion experience. At 15, she had a boyfriend and completely supported woman’s rights to decide the fate of her child. All of that changed after she discovered she was pregnant. Her boyfriend said that he would back out unless she got rid of it. She was also pressured with the fact that she had no money and hadn't finished high school yet. In closing of the video, she lives with the guilt of her decision and is now totally pro-life. Mother Teresa once said, “How can there be too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers.” People need to know the truth about what abortion. Precious lives are at stake, join an abortion rally today and help spread the word. The topic of abortion is a highly controversial issue in today's society, and various views are held concerning the morality of the procedure. Some people feel that abortion is simply cold-blooded murder, because it is their opinion that a 'foetus' is a human being from the moment of conception. However, others would argue that a foetus is merely insubstantial matter, dependant entirely on its mother's body for survival, with no real life of its own. It is for this reason that pro-abortionists support the woman's choice to undergo abortion. After all, why should something so small and insignificant, which is not yet human, be entitled to the same rights and privileges a real human has"…

Secondly, another ethical argument in favour of abortion is consciousness. Many people would agree that abortion is completely acceptable under most circumstances as long as the human has no signs of consciousness or presence of rationality. Examples of this are the ability to develop complex language and make tools. Similarly to viability, this point of consciousness is later on in the foetus’ development and growth, as even though all the DNA is there, the fact that there's no higher brain activity strongly suggests that there's no consciousness. Even the later presence of a heartbeat and of primitive streak do not imply consciousness or preciousness, as there is no higher brain activity or self-awareness. Therefore, this argument supports…

Nearly all abortions take place within the first trimester of the pregnancy. Within that time, the fetus cannot exist outside of the mother’s tummy. It is attached by the umbilical cord, and therefore depends on the mother’s health for survival. If it cannot survive on its own, the fetus is technically not a person yet, and being a living person is very different from the concept of human life…

The debate over whether abortion should be legal and to what point in the pregnancy it should be allowed has polarized many societies. Many religious preach that at the moment of conception, the new life is human and possesses a soul. Therefore, abortion is murder. Other, less extreme views, suggest the life is not human until there is a recognizable "completion of form." A third view proposes we have an obligation to create a good life for all children already born before we bring more unwanted children into the world.…

Is Abortion really murder. Give about 266 days after conception and see what emerges from the womb. It will be a human baby, not a horse, a fish or an honey badger. When a human egg and sperm unite, the result is a fetus. Within 3 week you can hear a heartbeat. At 4 weeks you are able to pick out facial features, arms and legs. Nerves and brain waves are in place by eight weeks after conception. At 12 weeks breathing of fluid for oxygen. So is this a fetus or a human? That is still up to interpretation. Legal rights have stepped in but, yet they are broken all the time.…

The main argument pertaining to abortion is whether or not a fetus is a "person" that is "indistinguishable from the rest of us" and if it deserves rights equal to women's. On this question there is a tremendous spectrum of religious, philosophical, scientific, and medical opinion, but it all really depends on who you ask. It's been argued for centuries. Fortunately, our society has recognized that each woman must be able to make this decision, based on her own conscience. To impose a law defining a fetus as a "person," granting it rights equal to or superior to a woman's, thinking, feeling, conscious human being, is not only arrogant but absurd. It only serves to diminish a woman's value. (Heritage House 76, Inc.)Under the view of pro choice supporters the embryo is not a baby since it can not survive and live outside the uterus since it receives everything needed to survive from the mother's body. In a sense the fetus dies but it was never living to begin with so it can not be considered an act of murder as pro-lifers would argue. More simply consider acorns and trees. (Robinson) Just as an acorn is a fertilized egg of the oak, that does not make it a tree. Sure it has the potential to become an oak tree, but it has not yet grown to that…

How would it be like if you weren’t allowed to choose what happens to your future? Some women do not get the luxury of choosing for themselves due to some laws set and they do not get the option whatsoever. That should be different as women are the ones who carry the babies, not the ones who are voting against it. Even though the baby never had the chance to live life, women should have the right to choose what they want to do with their baby because it may be bad for the women herself to have to care of a baby, they may not be prepared for a baby, and we do not know their circumstances of the situation.…

People who choose to have abortions done, most of them probably do not know how it is done, or they just do not care due to their own selfishness and ignorance. There are different excuses that they use for having abortions. People who are pro-choice think that a person or mother has the right to do as she chooses with her own body (Being Pro-Choice). They believe that an embryo is not a human and has no rights of their own. Pro-choice campaigners argue that the surgical procedure is completely safe and harmless (Lowen). This is false. Choosing to have an abortion is putting a woman’s body at risk. A mother can have serious complications that can affect their health and their future pregnancies, if able to be pregnant again…

According to When Religion and Politics mix , “a fetus is a unborn human being, and it is morally wrong to take a human life; the unborn child's life must consequently be legally protected.” A woman should have the right to do what she wants to do with her body and her life, but not with another human being. According to Vieira, the baby is entitled to his or her rights to life and to have a chance in this world (Vieira 1). A baby should not have to lose his or her life because of the parents decisions. A baby is a human just like the mother and father. The parents are responsible for their own actions and should have to deal the consequences. The baby should not be punished because of his or her parents decision. If the mother does not want the baby, they should chose another option.…

When I was about seven years old, I heard my aunt, a gynecologist, speaking on the phone with one of her patient’s husbands’ who wanted his wife to abort their baby. My aunt absolutely refused and commanded that he stop calling her. At the time, I didn’t really comprehend the story or what was happening, but I never forgot that moment. As I grew older, I understood why my aunt was so rigid about her decision. Abortion has been a huge issue not only in today’s society, but probably dating back to earlier times. It is the slaughtering of innocent lives with approval from the government. This is exactly why this dilemma should grab the attention of everyone, because It doesn’t just affect a specific age group it affects everyone and it is a…
