How To Write A Short Story: Jada's Loss Of Personal Identity
Jada went to freshen up and change into a yellow sleeveless dress that came above the knees. It was summery and the flare bottom added pizzazz. She accessorized with gold hoop earrings and gold bangles. She put her hair in a ponytail and let it hang down her back.

She put on shimmering gloss, some eyeliner and pinched her cheeks to bring out her color.
She went to retrieve yellow low heeled sandals and yellow bag. She went to meet Maxwell.

Once she arrived into the living room she didn’t see him at first. Then she heard him in the kitchen. She went to inform him she was ready.

He had changed clothes himself. He had on a fitted black shirt and a pair of dark blue jeans. It all accentuated his body…which was ridiculous.

Outside in Urbana, Ohio, it’s an oddly summer-like day for February; the sun shines through speckled clouds and the wind blows through the open window of an apartment at Rotary Manor, a retirement home down the street from my house. On the floor of this apartment, lies a woman, seventy-seven years old with short curly black hair, dark brown eyes, & tan Mexican skin. Normally a visit to Mee-Maw’s meant being fed past stuffed and watching her “stories”; That is not the case on this occasion. My mother knocks, turns the handle, and lets the door slam shut behind her. Soon, an ambulance arrives. Soon, there is nothing the doctors can do. Soon, this gives me new resolve.…

This type of style of writing allows me to express my feelings in words describing what I am going through at that moment or have gone through a certain point in my life. Sometimes words cannot be expressed verbally but only written. In the past, I have found that writing down my feelings at that moment help me somehow vent in a way but not necessarily to anyone. I personally like to go back and read what I actually wrote on a specific day and just meditate on those words and how I felt that day, and if it affected me in a certain way. The reason I do this is because it helps me to deal with those feelings…
