How To Write A Reflective Essay To The Youth Leadership Pasco Program
An experience I noted in my extracurricular activities section, the Youth Leadership Pasco program, was one of the most eye-opening experiences that allowed me to decide what I wanted my career to be. This desire was expressed in my endless ideas for future careers, including teacher, pediatrician, social worker, psychologist, and pretty much any other career that involves directly helping people. I was never able to settle on one thing, however, and always seemed to be skipping from idea to idea. My counselor, Ann Donlon, encouraged me to join the Youth Leadership Pasco program at the beginning of my junior year. Up until this point, I had few extracurricular activities; I honestly …show more content…
The bravery it took to email Stefanie helped me to overcome my avoidance of authority; for most of my life, I had thought people in powerful jobs were too busy for me and so I had always tried not to bother them. Throughout high school, my life has been consumed by sports. Being a student athlete has made me become the person I am today. Ever since I was sixteen, I have also worked at a daycare in town, TASK. This has showed me how much little kids look up to student athletes. Working at TASK has also showed me how much these little kids want to grow up and be like us student athletes. Without sports and working at the daycare, I would not be the role model I am today. Since working at the daycare, I have realized I want to be the person little girls are talking about when they say, “I want to grow up and be just like her.” Being chosen team captain has made me into the leader I am. I have learned how to push my teammates…

Last summer, I endeavored a life changing experience. American Legion Buckeye Boys State is a leadership program. It is the best Boys State program in the nation. On top of this, it is among the top programs for leadership, growth, and is a meeting of the greatest minds of Ohio, and by proxy, of the nation. But it’s so much more than that. From Day One, the minute you step off the bus, it instantly becomes an incredible experience. Everyone, people who have never even met before, are shaking everyone else’s hands, introducing themselves, and campaigning for positions before anyone has even dropped their luggage off. It was breathtaking, truly, and it made me realize that I too had to step up. Naturally, I did just that. I started meeting people,…

During high school, I committed most of my free time to my NJROTC unit and my 4-H club. In both of these organizations, community service, leadership, citizenship, and initiative are indispensable values that are essential to their functioning, and I like to think I have learned to embody these traits. In 4-H, I have attended, and then went on to teach, numerous leadership and group trainings. In NJROTC, I attended the Area 5 Leadership Academy, graduated as the Second Honor Cadet of the 2014 Academy, and was selected to be an Aide for the 2015 Academy. I held, or currently hold, leadership positions in both organizations and I feel I set a good example for my peers and subordinates. Through any task, I am enthusiastic about my job and…

During high school, people tend to put in all their effort to get good grades, get a high GPA, and join worthwhile activities. Most people also choose what they will be doing for the rest of their lives. Not only is it important that I pick something that I’ll enjoy, it’s also important that I pick out something that I would love to do without ever feeling weary.…

During my childhood my teachers would always ask me “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Without giving it much thought I would always say a teacher or a chef. As I got older I realized what I really wanted to be when I grew up. I became interested in becoming a nurse when I was around 12. My aunt, who is a nurse would always tell me stories about her patients and what was going on at the hospital she worked at.
