Palm reading, otherwise known as palmistry or chiromancy, is practiced all over the world. It has its roots in Indian astrology and Roma fortune-telling. The objective is to evaluate a person’s character or future by studying the palm of their hand. You can gain insight just holding someone’s hand.

There are two parts to deciphering the lines of ones’ hands. Let’s start with part one of two.
First, choose a hand. In palmistry it is thought that for females, the right hand is what you’re born with, and the left hand is what you’ve accumulated throughout life. For males, it is the opposite. The left hand is what you’re born with, and the right hand is what you’ve accumulated throughout life. With that being said, you can also choose whichever hand is dominant to be your present or past life hand, the non-dominant hand would then be your future life hand. Some say the left hand shows potential and what could be—not what will be. A difference in the hands could mean one is or is about to take action when it comes to changing their lives.

Second, identify the four major lines. (1)The heart line, (2) the head line, (3) the life line, (4) the fate line (only some people have this).
Third, interpret the heart line. This line is read from the pinky finger to the index finger or vise versa. It’s believed to indicate emotional stability, romantic perspectives, depression, and cardiac health. The basic interpretations are as follows: (1) Beginning below the index finger, which means you are content with your love life. (2) Beginning below the middle finger meaning you are selfish when it comes to love. (3) Beginning in the middle means you fall in love easily. (4) If it is straight and short, you are less interested in romance. (5) If the line touches the life line then you are prone to getting you heartbroken easily. (6) If your line is long and curvy, like mine, then you freely express emotions and feelings. (7) If it is straight and parallel to the head line, which is the next line down from the one you’re on now, then you handle emotions well. (8) If the line is wavy, then there is an absence of serious relationships. (9) If there is a circle on the line it means you suffer from sadness and depression. (10) If there is a broken line or there is a smaller line crossing through the heart line, you have experienced or will experience emotional trauma.

Fourth, examine the headline. This represents a person’s learning style, communication approach, intellectualism, and thirst for knowledge. A curved line is associated with creativity and spontaneity, while a straight line is linked with practicality and a structure approach. The basic interpretations are as follows: (1) Short lines means you prefer physical achievements over mental ones. (2) A curved line or sloping line means you are creative. (3) If the line is separated from the life line, then you are adventurous and have enthusiasm for life. (4) A wavy line means you have a short attention span. (5) If the line is deep and long, your thinking is clear and focused. (6) A straight line means you think realistically. (7) If there are circles or a cross in the head line you have or are going to experience an emotional crisis. (8) A broken head line means inconsistencies in thoughts. (9) If there are multiple crosses through the head line means momentous decisions.

Fifth, evaluate the life line. This line begins near the thumb and travels in an arc towards the wrist. This line represents physical health, general wellbeing, and major life changes. The length of the line has no association with the length of life. The basic interpretations for this line are as follows: (1) Does it run close to the thumb? If so, you are often tired. (2) Is the line curvy? Means you have plenty of energy. (3) Is it long and deep? Means vitality. (4) Short and shallow? Means you are manipulated by others. (5) Does the line swoop in a...
