How to Promote Better Health for Adults

Due to this, many diseases have also had a high increase. Overweight adults are suffering from type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer due to being overweight. About 74 % of American’s are overweight today. This includes 33.3% of men and 35.3% of women. A huge part of obesity has to do with eating proper potion sizes. Many fast food or out to dinner restaurants over fill the plates. The food industry has changed lot over the years in portions and ingredients. Tons of foods are filled with additives and extra fat. Back in the older days you got exactly what they cooked, back then they did not take short cuts to save on money. Many people go about losing weight the wrong way, and try fad diets. This can actually make you gain more weight due to starvation or cutting out protein and lean meats. I think people need to have a little more knowledge of foods and how to balance their eating habits. There are so many gimmicks out there on the market today for quick weight loss and many who buy into it. Some of the supplements are not healthy and many can cause anxiety or rapid heart rate. Most of the products out there are not FDA approved and there are a few that

    Within the last few years, obesity has become the number one health risk in America. “For the first time ever, overweight people outnumber average people in America. Doesn't that make overweight the average then? Last month you were fat, now you're average - hey, let's get a pizza!” jokes comedian Jay Leno (Jay Leno Quotes). Although he isn’t quite right with his statement, a large percentage of Americans are at least 30 percent over the ideal weight for a certain height.
