How To Prevent Illegal Immigration
“A nation that cannot control its borders is not a nation,” ex-president Ronald Reagan stated. Countries have many people who immigrated from different areas. However, an issue many have had is immigration. The United States of America is having an issue with a massive amount of people crossing the border between the U.S. and Mexico. An illegal immigrant costs on average the American family $1,117.00. Illegal immigrants cost the U.S. government way too much to harbor. They also take jobs away from Americans and they do not respect the laws. They take 40-50% of the jobs away from Americans. People with opposing views on immigration might say that they help the U.S. economy. The U.S. needs to secure their borders to stop illegal immigration.

For every job they take, it takes away an opportunity for a legal citizen to have income and have a better life. The website http://cis.org says, “the Immigration and Naturalization Service estimates that the illegal alien population grows by 400,000 to 500,000 each year.” A copious amount of the jobs taken by illegal immigrants are jobs unemployed Americans can use. The website tradingeconomics.com says that the unemployment rate in America is 5%. That is roughly 16 million people without jobs, and not taking into consideration the amount of people that have stoppped looking and therefore not a true representation of the unemployment. It would be much higher if those people were included in the numbers. The number could continually lower if Illegals were not taking American jobs. Over 45 million people are living in poverty which is approximately 14.2%. The influx of illegal immigrants entering the country, will only raise the poverty and the unemployment rate. Illegal immigrants cost the United States too much money. The author of the website fairus.org states “this report estimates the annual costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local level to be about $113 billion” per year. Also, they cost the average legal American family $1,117 a year according to fairus.org. The United States of America is not able to withstand the social and economical burden of Illegals. With the growing number entering the U.S. illegally, it will eventually lead to the downfall of the U.S.
