How To Play Sports In College Persuasive Essay
The day has come. You must decide. You are sitting there at the table with a letter in front of you. Your leg is bouncing up and down from excitement. Adrenaline is rushing through your body making you uneasy and anxious. The questions rise to your brain: do I commit or not and is this the college for me?

Many athletes who plan to play sports in college have experienced this same feeling. Ali Cronin, senior, Sammy Steele, junior, and Mark Sickler, sophomore, have all gone through the recruiting process while in high school. A large number of athletes also experience uncertainty of whether or not they want to try to be recruited by colleges, such as Maddie Zimmer, freshman. In the last year, 352 students played fall sports, 170 played winter

Sports should be a part of everybody’s lifestyle. There are many different types of sports, from combat sports to snow sports or even water sports, but the best type of sports are physical. One of the most outstanding physical sports is softball. Softball can be played by female athletes at many different levels. For example, travel softball, one of the most advanced ways to play, is played by elite girls between the ages of nine and twenty-three. Travel softball is a better opportunity than summer league softball because it makes any softball player a better athlete and more social by getting the opportunity to meet new people, play softball all year round, and experience more recruitment options.…

As I watch a high school sports event, I often wonder if people are actually betting real money on a simple game like this. I also then start to wonder if I would ever find myself betting on a sporting event. Very often, I see a commercial for a company like Fanduel, Sports Kings, or BetDSI and realize how massive of a brand that filtered sports betting is becoming. Since these websites are filtered and have very strict regulations placed on them by the government. For example, a member of these websites would have to be 18 or older, and can only place a certain amount of money on a certain amount of events. Sports betting gives people the feeling of being free, which is mostly why sports fans sign to these filtered gambling site. Even though…

We get what life hands us and sometimes it is good, but sometimes it is bad. A great activity offered by schools is softball and I am very thankful for that. First, softball makes a big difference in health. Second, we can get a good scholarship by playing softball and if we are a good enough player. Last, if we play softball, we are able to get physical with the other players. As can be seen, it is a good thing schools give us the opportunity to have all these great activities. First of all, softball really improves our health a lot. When we go up to swing the bat and we swing really hard, it works our arm muscles and makes us stronger. All we do in softball is run laps. We hit the ball we get to run the bases or if the ball is hit by another player we have to run to it to catch the ball, sometimes we do not get to catch it. If we practice we have to run the fence three times before practice is over which is not fun. When I play softball I am not allowed to have pop, the only things I am aloud to drink is water or Gatorade. I am fine with drinking either of those because they are both good and healthy. After all, this is why…

Becoming an athlete, let alone a college athlete, is not a path paved in gold. There are times you will be doubted, challenged, and cast aside. There will be mornings you are awake before the sun rises. There will be nights you cry yourself to sleep. You will push your body to points where it will fail. In fact, you might be blindsided by an injury that ends it all. There will be coaches that will give you a false sense of security or flat out lie to you, and there will be coaches that change your life. Your teammates might be your newest family, or they might be your worst enemy. This path is not for the fate of heart and there are no promises. But at the end of the day, if given the choice to do it all over again, any athlete will agree…

We are forced to accept that violence is no longer an acceptable reaction by anybody, that we must conjure the self-control to channel our anger into other more efficient ways. This has changed many views of interpretation on the world in which we live. You can especially see this change in the sports aspect of life. Sports are one of the biggest categories people are involved with, and something many people of the world share a passion for. As you can probably tell, this creates a growing problem. Most sports were created to be violent, an excuse to exert physical domination on another human. Sports were a way in which athletes could escape the normal world, have a new set of rules to follow, be held to a different standard.…

Commit your whole being. Without your full commitment, it's hard to achieve your goals. It would be a shame to practice all year and then go into the talent audition cold. When athletes have a game, they don't just get to the stadium and start playing. They, commit themselves by a stretch, warm up and get loose. Well, guess what? So should you. Get yourself Committed in the mindset of your performance, whether that's a character or just "in the zone". Don't break your concentration or allow personal emotions to interfere with your performance. You're at the audition, not the character, so your character shouldn't be nervous. To help do this, get yourself committed by warm up your mind, body, and voice. Specific exercises and stretches are something you'll have to research, but make sure you do it. Do it while waiting in line to audition, even if it means getting there early enough to do so. It will dramatically improve your performance at the auditions. To make this part even easier on yourself, commit it to your normal routine. If you warm-up when you practice, it will be a routine that allows your body to slip into a comfort zone via familiar actions, making it easier to ready yourself to perform.…
