A Christmas Carol is a melodrama based on the foul business owner Ebeneezer Scrooge. He has little care for anyone's wellbeing. He lives a miserable life in a miserable home, cold and alone not wanting to send a pound on anything nice. Scrooge refuses to take time off for it will cost him a lot of money. I really enjoyed the look of the houses. The doors each had a different design, no two were alike. The bakery even had cakes and pastries painted on the window. When Christmas trees were in the seen they had beautiful ornaments dispersed throughout the tree The costumes also seemed very time appropriate with the long skirts and large over coats. Some characters had pocket watches and shaws. I really enjoyed the women’s skirts in the dinner scene at Fred’s house. The more elegant skirts and dresses for the dinner party was a great change from what the carolers had worn.
I would recommend for everyone to come see A Christmas Carol. The play was one of the best that I have seen. This play has contributed to knowledge of theater from the way they used the follow spot often to the character without lines being able to tell a story. Over all this performance has taught me a lot about technical theater. The change music and carolers were a great thing to
