How To Remain Calm During A Stressful Time

Stress is a massive factor going on in today’s world. People handle their stress in various ways. From isolating themselves to even sometimes committing suicide. It is extremely important to remain calm while you’re stressed, but some people have no control over their emotions or don’t know how to. How do you remain calm during a stressful time? Have you ever really thought about how to? It’s not something you’re actually taught, it’s more of telling yourself everything will be okay and taking things step by step. I believe that most people blame their stress on external things when it’s really an internal factor. Of course, it can be very easy to blame your external life on your inner calm. Only you have the power to alleviate your stress. For example, being kind to yourself is important. If you’re always speaking in a negative tone and feeling nothing besides self-criticism, you’re not allowing your body to feel calm. When negative thoughts start to build up, remind yourself that that you deserve respect and you shouldn’t allow any room in your life for it. You should always reassure yourself with the phrase “I can deal with this”. You’re being positive and seeing light in the situation. Also, remind yourself how valuable you are and the strengths and beauty you bring into the world. You should never belittle yourself and let stress get the best of you. Remember that you’re human and life isn’t a fairytale story. An important step in remaining calm in a stressful time is learning to forgive yourself and forgiving others. Holding grudges, being bitter, and fueling constant anger is a recipe for causing yourself unwanted stress. Being patient can also help you cope with what you’re facing. Impatience says “I want it now” and when “it” doesn’t appear now, you’re more likely to lose your temper. Good things happen to those who wait and if that means lessening the amount of
