While others believe that it is something that Is not quite needed to have a successful and stable life. However, it is a fact that it is possible to be successful in life without a college education. Therefore, college is not a requirement in today's job market.
First, many employers look deeper than just having a college degree. Just going to college and getting a degree in a desired field does not guarantee you the job of your dreams. Many companies will want more than just having a degree, they want to see experience in the field or the potential to grow. If someone decided to get a college education, it wouldn’t be a wise idea to believe it guarantees the person the job of their dreams. The most it will due is make you look more qualified.

Even if you were to get a normal college degree, there are plenty of people out there who also have a college degree and are just as qualified. For example, if a company had to make a decision of hiring one of two people, who both had college degrees, they would choose the one they feel has more experience. Which comes down to the fact that experience in the right field can also get you a good enough job.
Third, college doesn’t teach you everything you need to know about maintaining a good job. Many people graduate from college and get a nice job but, they aren't fully prepared. In the United States, for someone looking to start their career in a white collar office environment, it is almost a necessity to have an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution. Without a Bachelor’s degree at the very least, it is very unlikely that an applicant will even get to the interview stage. It is important to note that the while the job itself might not actually require skills that are taught in college, many other applicants will have gone to college. College does not only learn about how to find a job, but also about how to live, how to think, and how to communicate effectively. Whether the skills learned in college or university actually help in one’s business career is a separate issue entirely. Thus, having a degree won’t give an individual a competitive edge, but not having one will hurt. For example, some college students argue that some majors are irrelevant to their careers such as liberal arts. But the future demands of citizenship will require not narrow technical or job-focused training, but rather a subtle understanding of the complex influences that shape the work we live in (Sanford J Ungar 191).Traditional and well-rounded preparation will never hurt you. For someone aspiring to work their way up in a corporate environment then, clearly there is value in obtaining a degree from a place of higher education. College is a key which offer a network of affordable future, of accessible hope, and an option to dream (Liz Addison 214).…

My whole life I have heard it said that going to college is a must to survive in the economy and live a successful life, but is that true? Recent events beg to differ as seen in a Newsweek article where they quoted a professor at Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce, Anthony Carnevale, saying college graduates make up almost “40 percent of the unemployed in the U.S.”. This example forms just one argument that I will use, along with the price that college demands for its services and its uselessness in fields of employment, to convince you that college isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be.…

College is a very difficult decision in many people's lives around the world. The stories of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs show that sometimes college would not be the best idea for some people. Even my father, who dropped out of college, is very successful and supports his family wealthily, while not having to do as much work as most people. However, these successful people went through difficult times and failed much in life, before becoming who they are now. While many people believe college is not worth it, it really is, because college is a pathway for many people into a great career, while also allowing graduates the gain of knowledge from the experience.…

Many people agree to disagree on college. There are plenty of people who do not attend college, and they find their way to the top. College gives you the extended learning skills that employers will look for when you're finding a job. The authors repeatedly express several statistics, including, “14 percent of people with a high school diploma make at least as much as those with a bachelor’s degree, and 17 percent of people with a bachelor’s degree make more than those with a professional degree.” This statistic also all depends on the major you want to pursue your career in. The choices a student makes about his or her field of study and later in a job can have a substantial impact on what he or she gets out of her degree…

When asked this question in today’s society my answer would be of course, a college degree improves your career opportunities. I feel it does because, when the potential employer views the resume or the employees profile they want to know that the candidate has the proper knowledge and proper training in the career field that they’re applying for. That’s why college exists, a doctor can’t just go into a hospital and say “I want to be a doctor” but never had any previous course or knowledge concerning the human body it would be a disaster. Rather we like it or not it’s the truth but I have to consider if someone would argue the facts or my opinion how would I argue that my point is correct or that they also make a valid point. So if someone came to me and said just because a person has a degree doesn’t improve their career opportunities. I would ask “why?” some could think that a college degree is just a piece of paper and that they’re smarter than most people that went to school for years. And could possibly be right. But a college degree is a lot more creditable.…

Receiving a college degree in some aspect does improve the chances of improving your career opportunities. Having that piece of paper saying that you have a bachelor’s degree in a certain field, will definitely make that individual look good and successful. But that is not always the case, I also believe that whether or not u have a college degree, your chances of improving your career opportunities are up there. Companies these days are not only looking at possible candidates with a college degree, but for those who also have the experience to deliver and get the job done. Without a degree, you will most likely move up the career ladder with the knowledge and experience you have, but once you get that degree, in most cases means a higher pay. Which in most cases, is why a lot of individuals go to earn their degree? Then they put both forces together, experience and degree, and move quicker up the ladder than other people. So after observing my problem, going out and earning that college degree will certainly improve your career opportunities. Meaning you will get the job that you always wanted and worked hard for, and showing what you work so hard to get, your college degree.…
