How To Be A Trauma Surgeon

In my opinion, to be trauma surgeon, you have to be a fast-paced worker. Someone who can take on a lot of stress. A trauma surgeon is important because they help save millions of lives every day. Myself, as a 10th grade student, works and focuses best in chaotic environments. I've always been interested in the medical field and wanted to help people in some way. I watch the show "Greys Anatomy" and it has really inspired me to follow my plans to become a trauma surgeon.

One specific type of physician someone could be is a trauma surgeon. Trauma surgeons are known as a "critical care" and "acute care" surgeons. They preform emergency surgeries on critically injured people that come into the emergency room. Most of these physicians work in emergency departments (Learn.org). In order to be a surgeon in general, one would need to have great organization skills. A surgeon has to be able to first figure out what is wrong with then patient. Figure out a plan of action to help that person to the best of their abilities. They need to know how to take the best course of action to make sure the patient is in the best
Without the proper training, one would not be successful in this area of expertise. To become a trauma surgeon, someone could be in school or training for up to 14 years. When college students go to pick their majors, they tend to lean to major in biology and/ or chemistry when going into the medical field (Career Discovery Encyclopedia). After the 4 years of education in college, they move onto med-school. There are required tests to take in order to pass. One would have to take the MCATS (Medical College Admission Test) and then the 3- step United States Medical Licensing Examination.
