The quality or character trait that separates those who succeed and those that do not, is a positive attitude and an unshakable belief in themselves. They do not let negative thoughts or obstacles get in the way of ultimate achievement. Those who cannot maintain control of their lives quite often want to give up at first sign of trouble or difficulty. When that happens, all else seems to unravel as well, and they mistakenly feel they have no control of anything at all in their lives. This has happened to me in past sometimes things happen. You might start drinking or doing drugs when you have never done that before. It really starts to your ability to keep control of things around you. The great thing in life you can lift your head up and learn from your mistakes. I am sure glad of that because I sure have made a lot of them and I am still here fighting.

I really like this quote "In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently." Anthony Robbins. This is so true basically when you stumble get right back up and take control

The theme of Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper” is what can happen when one let someone else control his or hers life. In the story, the wife becomes mentally ill because she lets her husband control her life and as the story progresses the reader can see that her condition worsens because she does not think for herself. The story shows how the wife writes about her and her husband, John, in the journal, her imaginations in the yellow wallpaper and on people, and the moment she goes completely insane.…

There are many programs throughout the United States which try to prevent any harm from being done to children in the future. However, these programs only teach children what to do and what not to do. Such programs have been proven to be ineffective when it comes to a child making the right choice later on in life. In middle school and high school, children go through a programs known as D.A.R.E in which they are taught about drugs and the consequences that are followed by taking drugs. Initially, this program was made in order to decrease the use of drugs that teenagers take later in their life. It was a good idea when the program first started in California and soon spread like a wildfire to other states. However, the program only prevented a small amount of teenagers to stray away from drugs rather than the whole population of American teenagers to cut off drugs.…

If I was meant to be controlled, I would have come with a remote. My life- i’m in control, or am I, I think that I am in control. Good morning gentlemen I am going to be telling you why I am in control of my life and that I can make my own decisions on things. My three main points are: 1 I choose to do hard challenges and chores because I benefit from it, 2 when do I become almost fully independent on my decision making, and 3 the people that influence my decisions and help me choose what decisions I make.…

During my senior year of high school I was responsible for my 4-H club’s booth design, multiple yearbook pages, track practice, helping direct my Senior Musical as I was student director, filling out scholarships, and manage any homework that came along the way. I struggled at times but the best solution I found for being responsible for many things at the same time was making myself a time schedule of what was going on, when I was free, and after my busy school life, planning my evenings when I had time for homework, when was designing time, scholarship time etc. Also whenever I had unexpected free time I made sure I used it to my advantage to free up other time later if I completed one of my many things to do. Otherwise my other go to…

Self responsibility is something that should be taught at an early age. As small children we learn that if we take toys out and make a mess, in the end we will be told to put everything back were it belonged. This also applies for teenagers. When we enter high school our lives are turned upside down. We are told to do homework and attend your classes on time and everyday. The one thing that’s different is that we can’t always rely on our parents anymore, and there will be a time were our parents wont be there at all to encourage or lead us through the right path.…

It doesn't help that many of the student leaders from the sixties and seventies ended up as ministers or journalists, who try to deny they've reneged on their principles by making statements such as: "It's true I used to run the Campaign to Abolish the British Army, but my recent speech in favor of invading every country in the world in alphabetical order merely places those ideals in a modern setting."…
