There is a prominent Hebrew Scalar who does not believe in biblical inerrancy and he says that he has no doubt that the writer of Genesis is trying to convey to the readers that the days are in fact 24 hour days.

2.There is no scientific evidence that can not be disputed on how old the earth is, Assumptions are a big part of both the evolutionary and creationist view. It just depends on how much evidence you need or which ones you are willing to except in order to believe what you do. It has been proven that radiometric dating is not a viable option, thank to Mount St. Helen. The fossil records, Distant starlight theory and Big Bang theory all show no concrete evidence for an old earth.

3.The lack of fossil records , to link both man and apes fossil records clearly speaks for them not having had one. Lucy the ape, depicted as having human hands and feet and which currently stands in the museum of natural history, is on display as one of our oldest ancestors. They claim that this is a replica of the fossils found in the dig, but really only 40% of the bones for Lucy were found, and non of them were the hands or

2.If you add up the genealogy in Genesis 5 and 11 which is Adam to Abraham, Abraham to the exodus from Egypt, and the Exodus to king David, that then tells us the rest of the timeline we get 6,000 years as the age of the earth. This is what most Biblical creationist hold to.

3.There is no link that has been found to prove that man and apes share a common ancestor, Lucy which is what they clam is the link in reality does not work because only 40% of "her" as they like to say bones were found. Non of the feet or hands and from the bones that were found it turns out Lucy is not a "her" but a "him".

4.Every Culture has its own creation myth, but are true point of wither Adam and Eve were real is in that Jesus and Paul spoke of them as if they were real in the new testament. Jesus and Paul have been proven to be real people in history and the new testament has been proven to be an accurate source of information.

The approximate age of the earth is 4,600,000,000 years old. Using scientific notation this number would look like 4.6 * 10^9. Scientific notation is shorter and easier to read than 4,600,000,000.…

The scientific community has been split on many things and the age of the earth is one of the subjects in which it is split. There are some who believe that the earth is billions of years old based on scientific measurements and there are others who believe that the earth is only thousands of years old based off of what the Bible teaches. Radiometric dating is one of the methods that is used to find the age of certain materials on the earth and we will take a look at this method briefly to understand its use with the two groups. The Grand Canyon is also used by both sides to explain the age of the earth but the views between both are very different. Diving into these things will give an opportunity to understand each view in order to believe whether the earth is measured in thousands or billions of years.…

In the book “Lucy: the beginnings of Humankind” by Donald Johanson the author himself writes his journey of how his friend Tom Gray and himself experienced the most surprising encounter with the oldest fossil of a hominid that they later called Lucy. Donald Johanson and Tom Gray are pale anthropologists and are very well known for their discovery of Lucy. At the beginning of the book the author writes in the first person illustrating how rare it is to find fossils, many who study in this field sometimes have no luck in finding such extraordinary old fossils. Johanson feels “lucky” to have been able to find such fossils that many have been trying to find without any luck. When Johanson and Gray were at a camp in the Afar desert, they went exploring for sediments, fossils, traces that would lead them to a new discovery. They realized that many of the fossils that they were finding on their way had already been found, but luckily before they were about to leave back to the camp Johanson found part of a hominid arm. At first Gray did not wanted to believe Johanson, but then they began to form the puzzle of what it was a hominid.…

Through out this chapter I believe there were many reliable statements. Such as dates that were not so far spread, quotes, or when a list was give of tools and food people had. Though there were reliable statement there were some that were not. The statements that I did not believe were reliable had words like: such as, suggest, maybe, and we do not know for sure. A statement that had the phrase we do not know for sure is good for thought but it is not really need, as we know nothing about it. In today’s world must say we cannot give a fair answer when asked how we evaluate the Paleolithic Era. We are…

    Old Earth vs. New Earth

Many Christian scholars are open to the belief in an old earth. One of these scholars is Colin Humphreys who believes that radioactive dating methods aren’t as accurate as most people think but they can still prove that we have a very old earth. Greg Koukl, is another Christian apologist, speaker, philosopher, and author who believes that the answer to the old earth/new earth lies in the heavens. The stars show light that takes millions of years to get to us. He argues that since were seeing light from the stars, because there millions of light years away, the earth must have been created millions of years ago. John Ankerberg argues that the seventh day of creation is thousands of years long as well as believing the third and sixth days of creation were longer than twenty four hours. “Everyone agrees that it has been at least thousands of years since the time of creation, yet the Bible declares that God rested on the seventh day after His six days of creation (Gen. 2:2-3). According to the book of Hebrews, God is still in His Sabbath rest from creation (4:3-5); hence, the seventh day has been at least six thousand years long, even on the shortest of all the chronologies of humankind (Ankerberg).” He believes the third day was longer than twenty four hours because God created plants and they fully matured, which takes longer than twenty four hours. The reason for his belief in the sixth day being longer is because of the many things God did on this day. He created Adam and Eve as well as creating thousands of animals who were all named by. All of these things would have been very hard to accomplish in the twelve hours of light there were.…

If we trace back to the first appearance of Genesis in written form, in its earliest translation, we arrive at 444 B.C.; In order to fully comprehend the origin of the story we must venture further back in time. We can begin with the father of the Hebrew people, Abraham. We can deduce when he lived, and find that he lived around 1900 B.C. in ancient Mesopotamia. If we examine his world and its culture, we may find the reasons behind certain references in Genesis, and the mythologies of Theogony they resemble.…

Recently, new speculation has shown that mother earth may in fact not be 4.5 billion years old, as has been taught in schools for many generations. However, young earth creationist believe that the world is only approximately six thousand years old. According to the Christian Bible, if we were to follow the chronology of many of its books including Genesis, Exodus, Galatians and 1 Kings, we would gather a general timeline of when God created the universe and the Earth. No where in the Bible does anyone give an exact date; however, we can get a very close estimate and rough explanation why the earth is not 4.5 billion years old. According to evidence, it is physically impossible.…

For several centuries, it has been researcher’s goal in science to find the human race, ancient ancestry. From the time of Charles Darwin’s, Theory of Evolution, anthropologists, paleontologist and other researchers from various fields have been discovering and identifying human origins. The quest to find human’s oldest ancestor was the missing link in the human evolution tree. The “missing link” was eventually discovered in Hardar, Ethiopia by Dr. Donald Johanson, an American paleoanthropologist. According to Johanson, Lucy (Australopithecus afarensis) represented the missing link between apes and humans. She was our oldest human ancestor, the ape who walked upright. According to Dr. Donald Johanson, Lucy was one of the greatest paleoanthropological finds of the 20th century, but to others, Johanson’s discovery and methodology of identifying Lucy had many flaws and contradictions to his theory.…

    A Young Earth

To me, it is not surprising that scientific evidence support a young earth perspective because the Scripture which I believe is the owner’s manual of the earth proved beyond any reasonable doubt that the age of this earth is in thousands and not millions or billions years as believed by evolutionist. I commend the efforts and all the hard work of the brave team of seven creation scientists from Institute for Creation Research for their success of completing eight- year’s research project known as RATE, or Radioisotopes and the Age of the Earth. According to RATE, for over a hundred years, evolutionists have insisted that the earth is billions of years old, and have arrogantly dismissed any views contrary to the belief. The results and Scientifics evidence of RATE outcome were fascinating; some of which are listed on their web site. Evolution Science evidence supporting the age of the earth changes from time to time as new development or new experiment shows up from time to time. But as for the Bible, the original manuscripts does not change it remains same forever. “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.” 1…

In Genesis 2, the creation only takes a meager one day to complete. First, God creates the man, Adam, when "He blew into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living being."(Genesis 2:7) Second, God creates plants in the Garden of Eden. Third, God brings the animals to Adam, who names each of them. Seeing that "for Adam no fitting helper was found. So the Lord God cast a deep sleep upon the man; and, while he slept, He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that spot. And the Lord God fashioned the rib that He had taken from the man into a woman; and He brought her to the man." (Genesis 2:20-22) Another point that affirms that Genesis 1 and 2 are two separate creation stories is that in Genesis 1:25-27 it tells how humans were created after man, and that the first man and woman were created simultaneously, while Genesis 2:18-19 claims, the humans were created before the other animals, and then the woman was created from man's rib.…

The age of the earth has been debated for centuries. Some people think that it is the big bang and everything evolved after that. They believe that that it took billions of years for earth to form. Others believe that God created the earth in seven days, and that the earth is young. There are plenty of evidence that earth is young. For example, there is only a little bit of sediment on the seafloor, but if the earth is 4 billion years old there would be more. Another example, is if the earth was old soft tissue would not be found in fossils. Secular scientist and Christian scientist both use different methods on figuring out how old the earth is. Secular scientist looks at layers of rocks to help them, while Christian scientist use the Bible…

    (2) Biblical date of creation-(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Ussher)-James Ussher (sometimes spelled Usher) (4 January 1581 – 21 March 1656) was Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland between 1625–56. He was a prolific scholar, who most famously published a chronology that purported to establish the time and date of the creation as the night preceding Sunday, 23 October 4004 BC, according to the proleptic Julian calendar. Till today, history of world is being fitted after that, though it is well known that earth was created about 4.5 billions years ago and current human species is at least 1.5 million years old.…
