You are required to identify a firm in Ghana and write an evidence-based report on how it is being transformed by information systems in terms of the following criteria:
Flattening
Decentralization
Flexibility
Location independence
Low transaction and coordination costs
Empowerment
Collaboration and teamwork
You should analyse your selected organization according to how technology, people and processes are shaping these criteria.
These should be in a detailed report that should not exceed 5,000 words.
This is a group assignment which is intended to allow you to demonstrate your understanding of how to analyse the role of information systems in the transformation of business enterprises. It is also aimed at inducing your analytical and decision-making skills in terms of your ability to apply information systems principles in analysis of practical issues.
Your report must present clear and discernible recommendations that flow from your analysis. Orderly structuring and presentation of relevant material will also count significantly in the assessment.
You may choose to discuss your thoughts with other groups to ensure that you have understood them properly, but you may not collaborate with other groups to prepare the detail of your report and its drafting. You may not share, with any other groups, any text, graphics, or data files that form part of your assignment.
Use a word processor to prepare your report on A4 sheets. Use 1-inch margins on all sides of your sheets. The text should be 12-point Times New Roman font with 1.5 line spacing.
