How Gunstream Changed My Life
“What's amazing is, if young people understood how doing well in school makes the rest of their life so much interesting, they would be more motivated. It's so far away in time that they can't appreciate what it means for their whole life.”- Bill Gates. There are many great and not so great things about schools. Gunstream is very important to me because it is such a friendly and positive aura. It is safe to say that anyone that goes to this school can think of many great things, people, and memories they will miss. I know I can definitely think of some great people and memories. The teachers spread positivity throughout the whole school and help kids in need. Being a teacher is hard, and the teachers at Gunstream are great at what they do. Students are very lucky to get the opportunity to visit interesting places for field trips; like safety town. Although many students throughout schools get this opportunity, Gunstream has amazing teachers that spread happiness through student to student. I liked how we were able to collaborate during this trip to have fun together as one vast group. I loved safety town because we were able to ride bikes like cars and go through traffic. There were also many stops and it was fun when the …show more content…
Gunstream has taught me to avoid drama, try my best, and have good vibes. I couldn’t imagine going to a better school with a better environment. I have made so many great friends and have learned to be a great friend myself. As I move onto the pathway to success, I hope to come back and revisit my memories. I will never fail to remember everyone that has made a difference in my life and will definitely make sure they know how much they mean to me. I am so thankful for the teachers helping me take 10 steps forward every day I attend class and inspiring me to do extravagant work. I respect their hard work and intentions to help every student

I had lost many friends because I refused to ditch class and smoke. I was deemed uncool because I put school work before anything else. This wasn’t anything like the environment I had hoped for. During the last several months of my Freshman year, I decided to transfer yet again; I was going back to Beaverton School District. Luckily, I knew plenty of kids from Junior High and Elementary school, but I was still concerned. Would I be thrown into another school run by stoners? Would I be able to receive the education I had expected from Wilson? The answers to those amazed me. From the first day of school, I felt like I had been here for years. Students were quick to introduce themselves, many offering to show me around or tell me all the hangout spots. I was amazed by the kindness that everyone showed to a complete stranger. Students held doors for me, invited me to sit with them in class or at lunch, and were quick to offer tips on how to survive BHS.…

In the mindset of that, I formed and gained a learning experience that changed me, how I act and spoke to people. I learned how to take care of children and even enlighten my older co-workers. The school was open five days a week, and I remember my first thought: How this white and blue building does not need me, that if I quit this place will still go on without me. The Goddard School gave me a sense of purity. Years of being a straight-A honors student while being a full-time athlete gave me the acceptance in the world. It was an honor taking care of children. I did not really have any high expectations on my school at first (in terms of facilities and the building), since I know that rural schools are sometimes isolated and not getting much attention by the authority, and that is the saddest part actually. But to my surprise, when I first stepped into my school compound, I was shocked to found out that my school is big and beautiful! I was very happy, of course, and I began to feel that I will enjoy doing my practicum in the school.…

I was enrolled here the summer of 2001. Im not going to lie, when I first came to Glenwood I was not feeling it. Plus what added to my uncertainty were the tall tales that was told to me before I came. It was a lady by the name of ms schuler who told me that Glenwood was like Hogwarts lol. And that there was a pool, and go karts that we could ride anytime we wanted to. Those were here exact words. I thought to myself that this would not be that bad after all huh. I was wrong. There was no sign of any magic. Nor go-karts lol. I was bamboozled. I hated all the rules and how structured Glenwood was to me. After time I grew to get use to it here. The contributors were my new friends that I found at Glenwood. There’s only 3 words that can describe Glenwood, “ a learning experience”. I don’t think that there is no other place on this planet that could have gave me the opportunities and life lessons that Glenwood has given me. I have learned to respect authority. Most importantly is to take responsibility for my actions. Glenwood I believe has prepared me for the outside world.…
