How Does Technology Affect Children

Why is it that as time passes acts of violence with teenagers and sometimes even younger kids increase within schools and outside of schools? In the past few years, statistics have shown that violence has increased drastically. What changes have occurred to make this happen? One factor could be technology. Almost everywhere one looks kids are holding some type of technology. Along with that a lot of information is readily available to them such as violence. Children from an early age are exposed to violence not only with technology but also with their surroundings. As they get older they begin to view it as a normal thing, so maybe if violence wasn’t so normalized throughout aspects of life or even made readily available to young children
Another corporate in these events of violence can also be the guardians. When looking at the past and then looking at the present time it’s obvious that the parent(s)/guardian(s) aren’t as involved in their child's life as they once were. Instead of having their kids read a book they'll they just hand them some type of technology. Why go outside with them or even spend time when there is technology to distract them? This may seem like an appealing aspect for busy parents, but it’s the complete opposite. It’s not that technology is necessarily bad it's actually very helpful and useful. Yet when parents let technology play a major role in their child's life that's when it becomes bad. Since that kid could find something they shouldn’t if not monitored. Which is what's starting to occur; parents will just give them technology an walk off instead of supervising them. Whether is something good or bad they’ll find information that will start to shape their vulnerable mind into who they will become. Along with that what they see around them will also play a role in who they will become too. So if children see their parent(s)/guardian(s) argue or even see violent tendencies in some cases, children no matter the age will copy it without even noticing it. Sometimes they’re circumstances where the parent(s)/guardian(s) can not prevent certain events from taking place. They can do everything in their ability to raise their child the best and safest way possible and still there's a possibility that the child will have violent tendencies. Even if the parent(s)/guardian(s) wanted to help there isn't always warning signs of what is occurring or what might occur.
