How Does Steinbeck Present The Theme Of Loneliness In Of Mice And Men

In the novel ‘‘ Of Mice and Men’’ loneliness is present troughtout th novel.Many of the characters amit suffering from it. Early in the novel George says, : ``Life working as a hand ranch is on the loneliness of life.As the story develops George,Crooks and Curley’s wife all confess their loneliness.Each of these character searches for a friend to talk to.

First of all,George is a lonely chacter because he has to take of his mentally handicaped fren Lenny.George could of have abandon him and lived without Lenny but he carries the responsability by taking care of him.Having to hate but to take care of Lenny has restricted George’s life,the oppurtunity to establish relationships.Since Lenny constantly causes problems they need to move..Unfortunately when they move so faste George doesn’t get the time to build relationships.The fact that Lenny is mentally handicapped he doesn’t offer much back to George.
Second off all, Crooks expressed feelings of loneliness troughout ‘‘Of Mice and Men‘‘.His loneliness is caused by because hes a black man,and at the story takes place when there was racism.Because he’s black he wasn’t able to socialize orinteract with any of the white mens.He’s physically seperated from the others white workers and has his room located in the barn.Also Crooks says , : ‘‘A guy goes nuts if he ain’t got nobody.Don’t make no difference who the guy is,long’s he’s with you.I tell
