They’re many effects on shoplifting, one of them is that it affects the economy. There are also ways that it affects family. One way it affects family is influencing your siblings, and also the time you’re parents have to put in by picking you up and taking you to community service. America looses about 16 million a year just from shoplifting. It also affects teens long term, making it harder to get a job and so on. It even affects the payroll which effects the people that work there. And it may seem like its not a big deal to take that one thing, but then the company has to rebuy that item. Some shoplifters don’t even notice when they will take something they see the opportunity and decide to take it. There even groups that go into a store and decide to work together to shoplift. Professional shoplifters like to steal the most expensive things and then easily resell it to someone else who had no idea that the person shoplifted it. The affects for a shoplifter is that they have to do a lot of community service or worse it just depends on the situation. The personal affects is the disappointment in they’re parents and the lack of trust that they now do not have. Shoplifting is one of the most popular crimes, maybe because it’s the easiest or most common in a teens life. And community service isn’t the worst thing that the law can do to you. They can make you quit your current job or even prevent you from getting a new job. They can make your insurance payments go up and you get a permanent Criminal record, which is very bad
