How Does Play Affect Children's Learning
Children are active learners. Piaget (cited in Darling-Kuria 2010) stated that children construct their own knowledge by giving meaning to the people, places and things they interact with in their world. All young children learn through meaningful hands-on experiences with their five senses to construct new knowledge within a supportive and nurturing environment. This will help to develop their competence and confidence to learn and do more on their own.
