HOW DO I SPEND MY FREE TIME ?
Nowadays, some people consider that children have too much leisure time and in spite of wasting it, they should use it to do more school work. In my opinion, I think children should use their free time wisely to develop their skills not only in school work but also in their life. Firstly, we all know that people cannot keep on working all the time. We need to stop and relax ourselves. And after a long day in school, children also need to relax. In their free time, they can play games, have a small party or even talk to each other to refresh their mind and keep themselves away from the stressful atmosphere of the school.
The games or sports that I play make me more reflexive, faster, and stronger both physically and mentally. For example in tennis, the player has to run, focus on the ball and swing the bat accurately at the same time. Children can improve their body, their reflections and their brain at the same time. Another thing that I do in my free time is pottering around in the garden with my mother. She plants a fair bit of flowers and I enjoy helping her take care of them. It is a pleasure to feel the soil, prune the plants, remove the weeds and do the little things that help the plants grow better. It always fills me with wonder to watch seedlings germinate, leaves sprout and eventually grow to produce beautiful flowers.
Social skills play an important part in me daily life. People do not need to be good at their knowledge but they also need know how deal with people. With a large amount of free time, I have joined some social activities which can give me a lot of ideas about the right manners and attitudes for my future life. At night, I usually do a bit of reading before going to bed. Books are like little treasure chests. A lot of information and knowledge are to be found in them and all it takes is a bit of time spent reading them. This is certainly a very beneficial way to spend my free time. After a spot of reading, it is time for bed and on to another day.

In the essay, the writer used her own two daughters as examples. She writes about how she wanted them to experience freedom in the summer and not think about the future. She wanted them to have new experiences and memories that would help them grow as a person. She mourned the fact every activity had a latent function aimed at improving the children. Summer should a period of time-outs, according to the writer. Children should enjoy to the fullest without having any guilt attached. But she stressed on the fact that children must not look for instant gratification if they want to enjoy these time-outs. Boredom fuels the imagination, in her opinion. She also talked about setting ground rules and boundaries before letting the children enjoy themselves. She pointed out the many reasons that make us stay inside but we must put faith in ourselves and also our children because letting them free is the only way they will learn.…

Children learn through play. Every moment that the child is playing they are learning new skills, words and meanings. Play gives children the opportunity to explore, take risks, challenge themselves and have fun whilst learning. It is a natural way for children to learn because it uses all of their senses, they are able to take in information and sort this information out in order to solve problems. As play is constantly working a child's brain in a way to help them develop, leisure is also very important to allow the child to de-stress themselves and refresh their minds. Leisure for a child may include things such as sitting down quietly and reading a book, watching the television or sitting down to eat snack and relax.…

Sigmund Freud said it best when he said, “Every child at play behaves like a creative writer, in that he creates a world of his own, or, rather, rearranges the things of his world in a new way” (Pearson). Playtime is an activity that is constantly being eliminated or greatly reduced, in favor of more structured educational learning activities starting in kindergarten. Many educational facilities have reduced recess or play breaks in the daily, which can lead to the children becoming overwhelmed or act out, because they have not been able to express their energy. Many parents are simply too busy to be able to fully immerse themselves into playing with their children. Parents today are busier than ever and children are enrolled in a multitude of activities they are shuffled to. Often times, parents will believe that they need to provide a wide arrangement of enrichment activities to build up every skill and aptitude so that their child might become high achievers in both high-school and later on in college, and life…

My favorite activity is going to the beach looking for sea glass. I find it to be very relaxing, and always exciting to see the “gems” I find. I also enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. As I've grown older, I've realized that the family I have is getting older. So any time I spend with them making memories is meaningful to me. I also enjoy going to the gym to keep fit. I try to include sports and activities besides my full-time job, attending college, and homework in my daily life because I believe it is important to be a well-rounded…

How I Spend My Free Time

As a student, I am quite busy on weekdays. However, at weekends, I have much free time, so I usually spend it on relaxing to prepare for a coming busy week. First of all, in my free time, I like playing some sports, such as soccer, badminton or basketball, with my friends. Sport not only makes me stronger but also connects me with my friends who have the same hobbies. We sometimes go riding in order that we can combine sporting activity and sightseeing. If the weather is not fine enough for me to hang out with my friends, I like to read books. I have a big bookshelf with many kinds of books but I prefer science books. Through these books, my knowledge is gradually enlarged. Thirdly, I also love to listen to music from pop, rock 'n roll to rap or melody. I can listen to music at any place with a small but modern Ipod which is my father's gift for my 18th birthday. Sometimes, I dance freely when listening to my favorite songs. Music really paints my life. Last but not least, I spend my free time on surfing on Internet. I can chat with my friends from very far distance or log on websites to read online news. With Internet, I update many things without having to go anywhere. I can also study English through some interesting websites. (If I have very difficult exercises and cannot solve them by myself, I will visit Google Answers and have somebody to help me. Just like this one ^^). In conclusion, I want to use all of my free time to relax and connect with other…

Taking extra time out of the school day for “free time”, can be seen as a waste of time. The additional time given to students may not be used in effective ways. This is in agreement with Perspective Two which claims that giving students a “genius hour” is a waste of time because not everyone will use the time well. For example, some students do not use their time wisely in study halls. However, more often than not, students want to be productive so they will not have as much work to do at home. This ties in with the idea in Perspective Three, which argues that giving students extra free time during the day is a waste of tax dollars, and that…

Firstly, for students, homework are time- consuming and add their stress. 8hours a day, 5 days a week, students have to go to school for such a long time, and they basically don’t have their private time at all if teachers give them loads of homework. Ridiculously enough, the schools and teachers love to emphasize “all-rounded development”. But where else can students squeeze their time for extracurricular activities and develop their interests if teachers just give them lots of homework?…
