How Did The Seven Year War Affect The Fur Trade
- 1713- The Treaty of Utrecht was signed by mostly by France and Britain. France gave britain the acadian territory Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Hudson’s Bay Company’s Territory of Rupert’s Island.
- 1756-1763-The Seven Year war was an ecumenical war mainly between France and Great Britain. Britain declared war with France albeit they fought for many years. It was a great and vicious battle. The war ended when the Treaty of Paris was signed by Britain and France to pacify the war. The war results in British victory where the whole French territory surrendered and the British surmounted the land
- Fur Trade- Hudson Bay played a major part in the fur trade. It controlled the Fur Trade throughout the British-controlled North America time period.

    The Seven Years war was a global conflict fought between 1756 and 1763 involving all European powers and considered by many historians to be the first world war. The war started as a border skirmish between the British and French North colonies in the North American colonies. The conflict divided the European continent in half, Great Britain, Prussia, Portugal, Hanover, and other small German states on one side and France, the Hapsburg Empire (Holy Roman Empire), the Russian Empire, Bourbon Spain, and Sweden on the other.     In 1623, the Dutch massacred English merchants in Amboina, setting off a series of offensive military behavior between the two powers (6). War officially broke out between the two from 1652 to 1654. Each was attempting to become the undisputed world leader in trade, and pursued campaigns to interfere with shipping routes, port access, and foreign trade policies. The British won the first Anglo-Dutch war, but another such conflict arose in 1664 when England attacked African territories belonging to the Dutch. The English proceeded to claim the Dutch Republic’s North American colonies, causing injury to Dutch trade. At this time France engaged in war with England, but took no active interest in Dutch victory. The Dutch eventually gained the upper hand in a series of battles and the peace treaty, the 1667 Treaty of Breda, marked a triumph for the Dutch with regards to trade. The agreement prompted a shift in land holdings between the two powers, however, and trade remained a point of contention between Europe’s leading countries.     The Treaty of Paris of 1763 was a treaty that officially ended the French and Indian War. This treaty was signed on February 10, 1763 by England, France, and Spain. The French and Indian War was a more wide European conflict in which England and Prussia went against France, Austria, Russia and Spain. The major cause of the war was the struggle for territorial expansion among the land west of the Appalachian Mountains, know then as the Ohio Territory.This war was also known as the Seven Years War and The Treaty of Paris concluded it. During the Treaty of Paris in 1763, France lost Canada and all claims to the territory east of the Mississippi to Great Britain, but gained back Martinique and Guadeloupe. Meanwhile Spain with the desire to recover Cuba, which Britain had taken from them gave up Florida in exchange. To recompense its ally France gave all of Louisiana west of the Mississippi and New Orleans to Spain, but with these being the only exceptions, England now had the whole land of North America east of the Mississippi in its power. The majority of Spanish and African occupants of Florida left and established somewhere else in parts of the Spanish empire, but all French settlers maintained occupying Canada, the Illinois country, and Spanish Louisiana. Over all the triumph, on the race for the most power, was for England. As understood the British colonies were experiencing great happiness at this point because the warfare seemed over at last. For them this meant that the colonies could now develop their extensive resources in an imperial partnership and share their never before experienced prosperity.
