How Did The Industrial Revolution Lead To Progress

The Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain, 1750. The Industrial Revolution because of Great Britain’s resources, wealth, and innovation.The Industrial Revolution replaced man labor with man made machines which increased the wealth of cities. Although the Industrial Revolution led to positive effects, ultimately, the Industrial Revolution did not lead to the progress of society because it caused poor working conditions, fatal accidents in the workplace and pollution. The Industrial Revolution led to many negative effects. Working conditions in factories and other work environments were terrible. According to Elizabeth Bentley, she “ worked from five in the morning till nine at night.” The workers were working so much time, sometimes more than that. According the William Cobbett, “ men had dropped down dead in the harvest fields…” The pollution was so bad the it had an effect on the people outside of the factory. The pollution overall proves that the revolution did not lead to the progress because they put off from the factories were harming and killing people. In conclusion, these effects of the Industrial Revolution did not demonstrate a full step in the right direction for society. The working conditions were unbelievable. People worked crazy long hours without enough rest. Some of the workers without rest died in accidents because they did not rest. These effects have relevance to history, society, and globalization because these issues are few of many that the world still faces
