How Did The Civil War Start
Slavery was one of the biggest reasons why the American Civil War began. The American Civil War started on April 12, 1861. The civil war went on for four years. It was caused by the disagreements over slavery and the states. The North and South both believed in different ideas. They did not agree on the same thing. This had an impact on both sides. The North didn’t believe in keeping slaves, while the South did believe in keeping slaves and wanted to have and keep the slaves that they could. This caused a lot of drama on both sides and caused a lot of damage. Slavery played a huge role in the American Civil War. The way they would treat the slaves was awful because yes, they were slaves, but they had feelings too; they all felt a certain way. How do you think they felt during that time? They probably felt very bad and were not in the right state of mind because of the way they were treated. The South didn’t care to think about how the slaves might have felt; they just used them to pick up after their mess and watch them clean up. On the other hand, the North felt bad for them; they were trying to stop slavery. They were trying to get civil rights and free labor for the nation's future. The North was the one trying to end slavery after everything that the slaves were going through. But it wasn’t that simple; there were ups and downs to it. The North had to go through a lot to try to end slavery. One of the things the North did was get a policy on emancipation. With this, it would be able to help a lot of the slaves because it was one step closer to being free, without anyone owning them and having to worry about anything. It was around 4:30ish in the morning when the South fired the very first shot. By firing the first shot, it caused the war to be a bigger deal than it already was. This was a sign for them to start going to war. The war between the Union and the Confederacy impacted a lot of people and caused about 620,000 people to pass away. From the people who were battling, 360,222 people died from the union, and 258,000 died from the Confederate. There were a lot of deaths on both sides. No one would imagine this many people dying. The American Civil War is known to be one of the biggest wars that killed a lot of people. It is also known for trying to free slaves. The North had a bigger advantage in being able to defeat the South. While the years passed, it was the last year of the war, which was 1865, on April 9, which was the same month that the war all started. It was the same month, but a different year and date. It is crazy how they spent all that time on war, and when it was close to ending, it was the same month, just a few days before the start and four years from the
