How Did Perseus Saved Andromeda
The second reason was when he saved Andromeda. When he on his way back from killing the gorgons he went to Ethiopia Perseus had found a lovely maiden called Andromeda. The punishment that Andromeda was not supposed to be for her it for her mother, she was punished from the gods because her mother was bragging and saying that Andromeda was more beautiful than the daughters of Neureus (the sea-god), so as a punishment they chained her in a rocky ledge to wait on the coming of the monster. Perseus saw her and him on the instant he loved her, so he waited beside her until the monster came to get its prey then he cut its head and saved her. This supports the thesis because this example really showed how chivalrous Perseus was when he saved Andromeda.

If Athena had not helped Odysseus by causing the suitors to miss their target each time they attempted to fire back at him, then he would have surely been dead fighting against so many puissant men. Without her constant help Odysseus would have never persevered through these tasks he so brashly went through, including this one. Making Athena the true hero of this story.…

The hero’s journey is defined as a chain of stages that all heroes are likely to go through. The story of Perseus is one of the best narratives that explain well the phases that the hero is likely to pass. The first stage according to Campbell is a call to adventure. The story of Perseus takes us back to the reign of a king known as Ancrisius, whereby the king had a beautiful girl called Danae. According to the story, prophesy from Apollo informed Ancrisius that on day Danae’s son would kill him.…

The Greek heroes Heracles, Jason, Perseus and Theseus are all intriguing characters of Greek mythology. They each portray many different qualities and compare and contrast each other. For example the fact that Heracles was constantly a target of Hera and Theseus a target of Medea links them as characters. Also, Heracles frees Theseus from the chair of forgetfulness which also makes them similar. Even further, Perseus is from the city of Argos which happens to be where Heracles’ family is from as well. Another similarity between Heracles and Theseus is that they attack the Amazons together and both tend to rid the lands of certain monsters. Heracles also worked together in the Argonaut crew with Jason. All these heroes also tend to share great…

Their brave, courageous, and boldness personalities is what makes them be consider heroes. Theseus saved the Athens from a dangerous monster the Minotaur’s, who was creating chaos by eating the seven man and women who enter his cave. On the Other hand, Perseus was the only person to be able to defeat the Gorgons and cut the head of Medusa. In additions, another characteristic that Perseus had that made him a great hero was his intelligence because he manage to cut medusa head without looking directly at her, knowing that if he looked at the Gorgon, he would have been turned into stone. Both of this man besides being heroes they were also consider demigods because Perseus was the son of Zeus, and in the book Classical Mythologies, it was said that there was a possibility that Theseus was the son of Poseidon, which might be the reason why both Perseus and Theseus are consider great heroes in Greek Mythology. No great hero ever became a hero without a more than a little perseverance. In Perseus’ myth I personally think this moral message perfectly describes him and every other hero. As conveyed throughout Perseus’ journey, he seems to maneuver around any strenuous obstacle course. One example, was when Perseus was a fetus, his father Acrisius, sent him and his mom, Danae into a wooden ark, drifting them away, where they did not know where to expect to land. Though, once they both reaches an island, the only thing they both really had, was each other. As time passed, Perseus grew older and older to be hero he is still known for today. He became a hero because he took up a challenge from a king to kill the Medusa. Nevertheless, he did have the help…

Cepheus and Cassiopeia the king and queen of Ethiopia ahad a daughter called Andromeda. Andromeda was beautiful. Cassiopeia was proud of her daughter and boasted about her beauty constantly. Cassiopeia even said that Andromeda was more beautiful than all the daughters of Poseidon the sea god. This made them very angry, so Poseidon decided to punish Cassiopeia. Poseidon sent a huge sea monster (called the Kraken) to ravage the land of Ethiopia. In order to calm Poseidon down, Andromeda was to be sacrificed to the monster. Unable to change Poseidon's mind, she was chained to a large rock by the seashore to await her fate. Luckily Perseus happened to be flying by. He had winged sandals! He was carrying with him the severed head of the Gorgon, Medusa. It had snakes for hair and was so ugly that any creature that gazed directly at it was turned to stone. Perseus saw Andromeda and the dangerous position she was in. With quick thinking he uncovered the head of Medusa, pointing it straight at the eyes of the sea monster. Just in the nick of time the sea monster turned to stone. Perseus and Andromeda fell in love and were married to save the kingdom. Andromeda's mother Cassiopeia was not very happy about the marriage! The Greeks imagined that when Perseus, Andromeda and Cassiopeia died their images were put into the night sky as groups of stars.…

There are many superhero’s that make up comic books and TV shows of today, but there are other heroes that fit the same description in ancient texts. Perseus is a great hero from Greek mythology. His parents, Zeus and Danaӫ, made him part mortal and part god: a demigod. Born inside of a house built of all bronze and sunk underground with a partial sunroof in Argos, he was hidden from his grandfather who wanted no grandchildren. With the help of a god and a goddess, his trips were made easier and more affective. He went on many adventures, but some in particular stands out above the rest. These stories are all wound around his adventure to get Medusa’s head and his return to home. Perseus was known as one of Greece’s most celebrated heroes because of his bravery, his determination, and his courage.…
