How Nelson Mandela influenced geography

Mandela was born on January 18, 1918, in South Africa. Nelson Mandela was a awesome leader who spent his entire life working for equality and justice in South Africa. Nelson Mandela has inspired people around the world to work non-violently for a better and more equal life. In South Africa Nelson is known as "Madiba," or "Tata", which means "father."

Mandela was the first person in his family to go to school.When he went to school, his teacher decided to call him “Nelson”. Nelson did well in school and went on to graduate from college and attend law school at University of the Witwatersrand. He was the only African American attending that specific college.     Nelson Mandela was a visionary freedom fighter who brought about the end of an apartheid society and solidified the democratic elections of presidents by majority rule to South Africa.
