Two of her main discoveries came from uranium because Marie spent a lot of her research into uranium she discovered these two things out of it: Radium, and Polonium. First I'll go over Radium. Radium, is purely from uranium it is radioactive but also good for many purposes from one tonne of uranium you cant get about 14 grams of radium. radium is now used in a cheap form of glow paint for watches or aircraft controls. it has also has been discovered that radium can be used to create a radio active gas that can cure cancer called radon. unfortunately the process is slow it can only turn one gram of radium into 0.0001 milliliters of radon every day. It is not allowed to be handled by anyone but professionals because of it’s highly radioactive properties considering radium is about 1 million times more active than uranium. The next main thing that Marie discovered was Polonium, Polonium like radium is radioactive and comes from uranium you need massive amounts of uranium to be able to actually use small amounts of polonium for experiments. In order to create it you needed one tonne of uranium in order to make 0.0001 grams of polonium. it is also a very high heat energy source 1 gram of polonium can create up to 140 watts of heat energy and it is considered one of the most lightweight heat sources on the planet cost of about $3,200 per microcurie that’s less than one rain drop of mass with a size and weight of atomic 209. it is also highly poisonous in gas form for humans to breathe. The next thing that Marie created was an xray it is because of her it is a possible thing that we have today. Since nobody knew how to use one at the time Marie herself would run into the battlefields with her contraption hook it up to people and show the doctors so they could be helped. Unfortunately in 1934 due to overexposure of radium Marie had passed
