How Did Hector Change In The Iliad
The personality the major character, Hector, changes in the course of The Iliad. Around the beginning of the story when Hector is talking with his wife he says he doesn’t mind going back out to battle even if it means he might die, because he wants to look courageous to the people of Troy since he is facing his fate that he might die during this war. This personality is seen to have changed when Hector sees Patroclus in Achilles’s armor and mistakes Patroclus for Achilles. When Hector first thought he saw Achilles fighting on the battlefield, Hector wanted to stay within the walls of Troy for safety and required to be called a coward by Apollo in disguise before he decide to fight.
