How Did European Imperialism Affect The Modern World
Imagine living in a world with little hospitals, dirty water, small amounts of transportation routes and little technology. Before Europe came to America, Asia and Africa there were not hospitals, schools, roads, railways or ports. European imperialism had a positive effect on the modern world by bringing improved living conditions, the spread of culture, and infrastructure to America, Asia and Africa. Europe also constructed hospitals and schools therefore improving health and education. Christianity, European language was taught to the people spreading culture throughout the continents. Europe also built one of the largest railroads in India.

    They gave them education and medical services that were greatly needed. The British brought them great modern methods such as banking and new industries. This was positive because most Africans did not have the money to afford medical services and education. They brought them great new civilizations and a new better way of life. Also document 2 by the New york times which was a national U.S newspaper published on July 24, 1904 New York, the railroad development in Africa. The railroad development was mainly along the coast and especially in Western and Southern Africa. This shows how the effects of European Imperialism were economically positive because they were making it easier for Africans to travel. Lastly document 3 by Lord Frederick Lugard who was a British officer which later became the governor general of the colony of Nigeria in British 1922 shows how manufactured goods benefited Africans. Food was being wasted before the British came and made the resources more useful. Because Lord Frederick Lugard became the governor of the colony of Nigeria, he might’ve actually been helping which is why he became the governor. The effects were economically positive because based on this document, the British helped Africans use their resources more efficiently.…
