How Can A Diesel Motor Breaks Down?
Diesel motors run America. But what if a diesel motor breaks down? Somebody would have to fix it. A diesel engineer or technician would need to fill the spot. But how much money does a diesel mechanic make, and how much do they have to pay for their training? At UNOH (University of Northern Ohio), a person can take up to five years of schooling. One year of training is nine months. Within those nine months, you can become a diesel mechanic. One year of schooling is only twenty two thousand dollars. That’s not a bad deal in my opinion. A diesel technician has many jobs. They can do anything from rebuilding an engineering to replacing wires. Technicians are a higher paid mechanic. They have to go through long procedures with specialized computers and equipment. Without a technician, a plane mechanic would never figure out problems with the engine. …show more content…
They can make anywhere from 100,000 dollars to upwards of 160,000 dollars. On hourly, that is fifty to one-hundred and twenty dollars. Any accidental injury in the shop will be fully covered through company insurance. You can work six or five days a week depending on the company at eight to ten hour shifts. Vacation and personal days vary too much to list. My goal for the future is to attend to UNOH for five years and receive a master’s degree in diesel engineering. I will have to have a full time job and go to class in order to pay bills. I will be living in a dorm for nine months a time, which will cost 2,700 dollars (300$ a month). I hope to have as much fun as I do

Because of the long drives, most will get fast food. There is a 70 hour restriction over 8 days for most long haul truck drivers. Usually truck drivers get 6 or 7 miles per gallon of gas. Being a long haul driver gets you more money, even though you don’t get to be home every night. Truck drivers risk a lot including: leaving their family and home, risking their life, and possibly getting stuck in the middle of nowhere. All truck drivers have to take the DOT physical before driving. The DOT physical contains many test over health, such as blood pressure, drug test, alcohol test, etc. Some truck drivers are paid by the hour, while most are paid by the mile. Most drivers are expected to drive about 500 miles a day. That means they drive about 125,000 miles per year! Most driver seat areas in a semi truck are about 8x8 feet. Again, I chose this career to do a report on because this job interests me some and I may like to be a truck driver when I am older. This job may not interest some, but I love seeing nature and the beautiful scenery in the world. Being a truck driver, you get to see all of…
