Executive Summary

It is important for employers and employees to understand their roles and responsibilities in the housekeeping department in a hotel. This research paper provides a detailed analysis of four of many important factors in the housekeeping department. It discusses the responsibilities of an executive housekeeper, the cleaning procedures of a guestroom, the functions of the washer and dryer and contribution to the housekeeping department, and an overall analysis of linen. Each of these topics focuses on the role they play in regards to the housekeeping department in a hotel and how it contributes to the successfulness of the hotel.
The executive housekeeper have many responsibilities such as conducting recruiting procedures, performance procedures, evaluating employees, analyzing budget reports, and many others. The washer and dryer plays an important role in the laundry room. They are used to turn dirty linen to clean ones that are used to create comfort for guests. When cleaning a guestroom, a room attendant must accomplish a list of tasks that must be accomplished. They are responsible for changing all the bed linen, bathroom linen, and cleaning the room from top to bottom. Linen are mainly used for three different areas in a hotel, dining linen, bed linen, and bathroom linen. Linen is textile made out of fiber, which provides the fabric with high absorbent features, smooth surfaces, and is typically lint-free. Introduction
In a hotel, there is the front-of-house that mainly consists of departments that generates revenue for the hotel, and there is the back-of-house where they do not generate revenue, but in fact, aid in generating revenue. The housekeeping department is part of the back-of-house section and they are responsible for cleaning and tidying the hotel to provide a cleaned atmosphere for guests. The housekeeping department is in charge of cleaning guests rooms and ensuring that the guests '

    In the supplies aspect, we have divided into two aspect of supplies, cleaning supplies and guest supplies. In cleaning supplies, these supplies are used as cleaning the hotel’s area frequently, we always use them when room attendant and public area attendant are cleaning the guest room and public area.
