Honor Society Pillars

Students everywhere are being picked for honor societies in their schools. When a student learns that they have been selected for such an honor, it encourages them to maintain their standing, or even find a higher ground. I, Matthew Hurley, was ecstatic to learn that I was considered for the honor society of Fairview Schools. I am now a third quarter sophomore and through my time so far in high school, I believe I have shown the qualities of a student in the Honor Society. I strongly adhere to the thought that I represent the four pillars of an Honor Society member. I have held my grades at a high percentage, helped my community and peers by doing service to them, lead those around me to become superior in their activities that I enjoy as
In my student career, I have strongly held the belief that the single most important thing in my life is to learn, and to learn everything I am capable of. I always have said: "A genius is not a person who knows everything. A genius, is a person whom is aware of what they know, and are willing to learn more." This is my philosophy as a student, to learn at every opportunity and realize lessons can be sometimes very difficult to learn. I have come to school every day in my life that I am able, with the thought that I will learn, and keep an optimistic attitude in that sense. Optimism is by far the most important ideal to have to succeed, and I try to share optimism with my classmates and any living being around me. All people should strive to give service to those around them, become a leader when leaders are needed most, have strong character at all points of the day and be successful in their careers as students or members of adult society. I, Matthew M. Hurley, have done everything in my power to meet these four pillars in my career as as student, and shall maintain that status throughout the rest of my life.
