honor and respect
Honor & Respect I believe to respect a person means no matter what their beliefs are, or what decisions they decide to make. Always show them courtesy and never be judgmental in their decision making. Honor is a subjective right. More specifically, honor is a right to respect as an equal. Honor is a gift a man gives himself. You can be as good as anyone that ever lived. If you can read, you can learn everything that anyone ever learned. But you’ve got to want it. As defined in the dictionary, honor is a high respect that is earned through deeds and reputation. But, what is honor, and how does one receive it? Honor is like many things that are hard to put into words. For example, describing honor is like trying to describe any emotion like love, hate or any other kind of feelings. Honor is also something that in an instant people know someone has. If they respect you, respect them. If they disrespect you, still respect them. Do not allow the actions of others to decrease your good manners, because you represent yourself, not others. Nobody can earn respect by suppression or by flaunting power. It is a deliberate action that cannot be forced upon others. In other words respect seems to be like a boomerang in the sense that you must send it out before it will come back to you. Respect is the understanding and acknowledging the right of someone else to have their beliefs. It’s the best medicine, if a person doesn’t have honor they don’t have anything. The task that remains is to cope with our independence. To see ourselves reflected in every other human being and to respect and honor our differences. For those who give hope to be rewarded with honor, they’re not giving they are bargaining. It is better to deserve honors and not have them then to have them and not to deserve them. For anyone who teaches me deserve my respect, honoring and attention.

From past experiences I have learned the real meaning of respect. This word is more powerful than one can imagine. With respect comes unselfishness. When people respect others, they are treated equally. My mother and father always told me to be tactful in the way I treated others, so I would also be respected. It has worked in the past and will always hold true in the future. If someone respects another with proper judgment, people feel good inside which gives them a sense of integrity. When I give respect and witness how it makes others feel, I feel like more of a person. I feel proud. Honored.…

In my opinion honor must be earned. Mainly through trust from others and people who are close to you, but also by hard and memorable work in any way possible. How it can be taken is interesting (so please bear with me). One way is through disappointment, mainly to people close to you and others who trust you. Even distrust can be confused in a way which the trust that is lost between you and someone else, and I’ll admit it sucks (trust me I know from past experience). However, in general it is a great thing that we can have, but we can lose it at a cost (let’s truly think about that). Real honor is given by God for how he sees us and what he thinks of us.
