Honduras is a tropical paradise located in the heart of Central America. Each year it recieves millions of tourists from all over the world drawn by all its travel destinations. Without a doubt, its beautiful beaches, fascinating history, and energetic adventure that Honduras has to offer, are the necessary components of an ideal vacation. The most popular destinations are Roatan, Copan, and La Ceiba.

One of the most important attractions in Honduras is Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands off the Caribbean coast of the country. It is famous for having the world's second longest coral reef, which flourishes with a colorful and vivid undersea life. According to Dan Taylor in Destination360 "In recent years, Roatan has become a regular stop-off on western Caribbean cruises and a favored destination for Honduras vacations." Dan claims that each year more tourists are attracted to this island and its becoming a popular vacation spot. With its crystaline water, Roatan is a perfect place for diving, snorkeling and swimming. If you're looking for a tropical paradise or a beach gateaway, Roatan is the place for you.

Another main tourist destination is Copan, a city filled with history. This place contains one of the biggest sites of the magnificent mayan culture, as you walk through Copan you will encounter statues, temples, and other constructions that will take you back to the Mayan empire's golden age. Besides its historical background, Copan is also a place where you can observe a great variety of birds as they migrate through the colonial town. Copan is definetly a must see honduran destination.

One more of Honduras great attractions is La Ceiba, located in the northern coast of the country.
