Homeschooling Persuasive Speech
My persuasive speech was on home schooling. My stand point was that home schooling as a negative affect on students socially and academically. Having a standpoint is very important. My goal was too be extremely confident and have back round information on what I was trying to persuade. When giving a persuasive speech my body and voice were my best tools. They we're each particularly important. I did not want to be monotone because I knew that could send my audience into a nap and I did not want to be boring or uninteresting. I tried to put myself in my audiences shoes and say things that I knew would get me listening. I was not trying trying to sell something, I was asking my listener, audience to agree with what I was trying to say. The success of my speech required attention to what motivated my listeners. When preparing for a persuasive speech not many think of how important using ones own body can be. Having project strength, good posture and good eye contact can be the keys to assure the attention of the audience. …show more content…

In persuasive speaking there are two styles which are, speech of actuation & speech of disposition. I will be informing you the differences between the two speeches. In the actuation speech its designed to cause the audience to do or show something also action. Actuation speech is really particularly useful if only the audience already shares all of your view. An example could be, at the end of presidential campaigns, the candidates begin to focus on convincing their supporters to actually vote. They are seeking to actuate the action of voting through their speeches. Actuate is a term meaning “move to action”, such as arugueing that your grade should be changed. In the United States over 2 million people are being homeschooled. This equates to 3.5% of the total amount of currently enrolled students. The number of homeschooled students rises every year at a surprising rate. There are a couple of reasons why parents are turning to homeschooling for their kid’s education. They believe that they can offer better education than public schools and have a better social environment than public school students, and I fully agree with these reasons.…

Persuasive speeches have been the most challenging speeches in this class for me. The goal is to influence the belief of an audience, convincing them to choose a side. The first persuasive speech I done I was nervous for some odd reason. When it comes to informative speeches I can talk a lot, but it’s different with persuasive speeches. Gaining the attention of the audience enough to persuade them is the major key to a good persuasive speech. Speech 3 was the longest persuasive speech being four to six minutes and it seemed to be the longest. With persuasive speeches, you want to provide the audience with enough information so they’ll be able to choose a side, most likely the side you’re arguing for.…

Over 80,000 people in America fall asleep while driving every day, and According to several studies over 50% of those people are teenage drivers. One can easily see while using social media that teens are exhausted from school hours and school work across the nation. School hours are so demanding mixed with sports and academic related activities, this puts a lot of stress on high schoolers all over the country. The overbearing need to receive good grades can lead most teenagers to become gradually more stressed, and eventually even cheat. The main issue I am trying to address here is that school hours are all too demanding for teenagers in this day and age therefore school hours should be pushed back a minimum of one hour if not more.…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…
