Homelessness In College Essay

Speaking to friends on campus, many are excited to go home for the holidays. Some of them gone for months and longing for a home cooked meal and to be surrounded by their family, but, what about those who have nowhere to go? There is a forgotten number of people who depend on Indiana State University to feed them and give them a home. Imagine a friend not having anywhere to go during breaks, especially Christmas when winter break is nearly a month. Like Indiana State University, my old high school various students, athletes, preforming scholars, and choir kids who had nowhere to go once school was over for the day. Homelessness is a major problem that affects the lives of those on campus, and for those who are a part of universities community, we can work to change this status.
Many colleges follow the normal four breaks and some students are not fortunate enough to have a place to call home once these breaks come. This can cause students to have to find other places to live until campuses open back up to the public. The stories of people sleeping in cars become a reality to these
For some student’s people never know what they are going through and Indiana State University can help that with making people who need help feel more welcome in finding help. If the coach from my school would not have asked and actually dug into the issue, there is no telling where the child would be now, this being said it is time to think about all of the people on campus who are going through the same situation right in front of our eyes without us even knowing. In college things move a lot faster than the average high school, no one to really check on students and see how they are and this makes all the easier to become unconsciously blind to the problem in front of
