Holistic Approach

I really enjoyed reading your post on holistic approach. You have given wonderful examples such as: aromatherapy, massage, relaxation and exercise. Effective pain management does not mean we should always consider medication but it also has many variety of nonpharmacological ways to lessen the pain. These approaches could be done by holist way and there is some evidence to support the pain relief if it is done correctly. When patients have pain it often causes muscle tensions which will lead to anxiety. If patients are willing for nonpharmacological intervention it gives them benefits by reducing drug therapy. Working in the Operating room I have some chance holding patients hands and comforting them by gentle touch and relaxation techniques
