Hockey Skills
What concepts and skills can I learn and apply to my daily life by playing hockey?? During the pass more than 9 weeks of Hockey class, my classmate and me have been playing hockey together. Firstly our hockey is different from the real hockey because is our hockey, which we sets our own rules and play in the way which all of us, can have fun and enjoy. And of cause we faced many problems when we were trying to set our own rules because maybe some of us agree about new rule but some of us doesn’t, so in the end we trying to solve the problems by using both ideas from all of us so that we don’t have to arguing with another and then we see which rules were fixed to us, after that we disgust together which rule works and which rule doesn’t works. Applying to my dairy life, I usually applying the same concepts and skills from this hockey lesson to my real life, for example I remember in my history class the teacher was set me into two pairs to make the presentation about Napoléon, and we both came out in the different ideas of making the presentation just like in the hockey that we were trying to set the rules and everybody had the different ideas, so with my pair we talked together and we came out with the ideas that hey lets mix our ideas together and make the presentation, we both had good ideas so why don’t we use some ideas from one of us and some form the another. In the end we had the amazing presentation without have the argument with the team and we were happy. And another thing I learned from this class basically to adapting the problem, in the hockey class I am not good at anything but I can passing the ball and catching the ball in the high speed, however some of my teammate’s skill is lower to be able to catch the fast passing speed, so I need to adapt my self to pass slower so that my teammate could get the ball. Applying to my real life, when I speaking in the language that I already good at it with the person who was not good at this language I need

I believe my greatest non-academic achievement would be my involvement in the sport of hockey. I have been passionately involved in hockey since I was a young child and have been able to transition from a youth to a young adult with many of my peers in the hockey world. I find hockey to be my greatest achievement outside the classroom because of how much time I have invested playing the game, as well as the time I have spent being an advocate for the sport. Not only have I had the opportunity to play the sport for almost the entirety of my life, I have also been able to become an active member of my community, using hockey as the outlet. I have taken part in mentorship initiatives to help teach young children the sport, I have refereed youth…

A hockey player impels himself forward by pushing off the ice with a power opposite to the skate sharp edge. Since the contact of the edge with the ice is just about zero, this is the main way he can impel himself forward. The figure underneath represents the material science behind this guideline. As the hockey player pushes off with his back leg, an opposite power F is applied on the skate by the ice. The part of the power F that focuses forward (toward movement) is the thing that pushes the player forward. In the meantime, his other skate is either raised or floating on the ice. As he advances he then changes to the next leg and pushes off the ice with that one, and the procedure is reflected. To push off the ice with more noteworthy forward power (and quicken speedier), the skater expands the edge…

The first person I interviewed was Harris Plourde a 37 year old born and raised Canadian. Harris says " I love the speed of the sport. Not just of the players, but how fast things change. I realized that you have to be constantly on your toes. Also, unlike like basketball, football and soccer, I find hockey requires refined abilities and skills. There's no other sport that you have to skate or use a stick. Everyone is born with the natural ability to throw or kick, but hockey skills are learned." He also says that hockey is very popular in Canada. He plays whenever he gets the chance.…

Playing Ice Hockey was a burning passion of mine. It all started in the cold and dense locker room. Practice had just finished up and we were inside the locker room getting undressed. I was a forward on the team and was only ten years old. The team goalie was sick and was not going to be able to make our game the next day. Coach asked “Is anyone willing to play goalie for our game?” and I, the young ten year old boy I was; was the first person to quickly respond saying “I will!” Playing goalie was destined for me, I was a star and very talented.…

It is not a gentle sport. “You can’t go in this sport with a ballerina attitude. Hockey is a sport that requires toughness and focus. Field hockey has taught me some of the basic values of life and has changed my morals as well. I learned to respect all players, coaches and referees. I learned that I can be a good player and play hard – yet, still be courteous and kind on the playing field. This sport has taught me how to love myself, my teammates, and to become the best athlete I can be, through important lessons that I can incorporate on and off the field. It will hold a place in my heart even after I can no longer suit up to play in my stinky goalie gear, and I will always appreciate…
