Hobby Lobby Ethical Dilemma Paper
Thank you for the recent promotion to the managerial position within this company. My job now is to oversee 50 factory workers. After the first day on the job I discovered that the workers were working past their 8-hour shift. I would like to have a meeting with you regarding this current situation. I recently spoke with the factory supervisor to express my concern, because I know this company does not have the funds to pay every worker for overtime. He explained to me that we are “inviting” workers to work past their shift, which is illegal. If someone were to find out about this current situation, it would put our company in a bind as well as in our credibility.
Objective
I believe our highest objective in business is to make a profit. We can achieve this goal by the use of good ethics. Due to my past experience working in product design I know the owners of Hobby Lobby are professing Christin’s and have their own ethical standards. Hobby Lobby is a well-known company which gives us a great opportunity to get exposure from new businesses. This exposure could bring us more profit. This will benefit our reputation since we would not be using bad ethics. Even though this is a risk to our partnership with Hobby Lobby, I believe it will show our current customers as well as our future customers that even though we do not use the best products available it would still show that we would do whatever it takes to keep their business. This would also show Hobby Lobby’s outside companies we are a business that gets the job done no matter the difficulty of any situations we run

Show-rooming has become a significant issue for Target, its internal stakeholders, and the predominance of its external stakeholders. Subsequently, Target requested suppliers manufacture products that are exclusively sold by Target and/or partner with Target to price match competitors, in order to aid Target in remaining competitive (Kinicki, 2013). After learning of Target’s request of its vendors, some have expressed concerns regarding the ethical dilemma created by Target. One of the most difficult trials I face in my life are ethical and moral dilemmas. An ethical dilemma is more consistent with my everyday life than a moral dilemma. Ethical dilemma is defined as situations in which there is a choice to be made between two options, neither of which resolves the situation in an ethically acceptable fashion. Every day I am faced with decisions of right and wrong most of which are easily and correctly dealt with. Sometimes decisions need to be made that are not easy or clear, however they require thought and often prayer.…

After taking the questionnaire there was a lot of those questions that stood out to me. Is it right to take home office supplies, pens, paper etc. I’ve been guilty of leaving with work with a pen almost on a daily basis, do I think it’s ethically wrong to do so; no however it’d be a different story if I took a stapler or an office printer that’s stealing. I know some would argue and think that taking a pen is stealing but most companies have cup of them for advertisement purposes.…
