SS lieutenant colonel Adolf Eichmann represented the epitome of desk murderers. “A hundred dead people is a catastrophe,” Eichmann told. “Six million dead is a statistic” (Rice 57). Born on March 19, 1906 in Solingen Germany, it wasn’t long before Eichmann moved with his family to Linz, Austria to finish schooling and get a career. Upon completing school, he wanted to study mechanical engineering, but couldn’t complete it because of the rough economic situation in Germany in the 20’s. Eichmann moved from job to job, working shortly as a mining laborer and then in the Upper Austrian electrical construction company. Finally, he became a salesman for the Vacuum Oil Company from 1927 to 1933 (Jewish Virtual).…
Adolf Hitler: the name of one of the most universally hated men in history. Known for taking control of the German government and turning the country against the Jewish population, Hitler started an age of fear that would go down in history as one of the worst acts of inhumanity that the world had seen, turning the world into a war zone as the allied powers fought the axis powers in an attempt to halt the atrocities being committed against the Jewish people. Many believe that it was the death of Hitler that signalled the defeat of Germany during WWII, but Hitler’s death was only his reaction to the knowledge that he had already lost the war. Germany was defeated in WWII because of its command structure, Hitler’s inefficient use of its home front workforce, its heavy reliance on petroleum, and because it faced war on two fronts.…
Although most people won't admit it, the most influential person of the 20th century was Adolf Hitler. While most know him as the man who led the Nazi party in Germany from 1934 through his death in 1945, few know his history.…
Adolf Hitler was born on 20th April 1889 in "Braunau am Inn", Austria. After leaving school prematurely he tried to become an artist, but was rejected by the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna twice.…
World War II was a very traumatizing war but also very important to our history. This was the time where only the best leaders were noticed and were strong. From the war we are able to study and learn so much about what made even the immoral leaders such strong leaders. As The leader of Germany, Hitler was one of the strong leaders due to his ability to evoke unity and strengthen nations through his speeches. In Hitler’s speech, he successfully honors German soldiers and reinvigorates the commitment to the war by using slanted language, innuendo, and logic.…
AUTHOR'S PREFACE On April 1st, 1924, I began to serve my sentence of detention in the Fortress of Landsberg am Lech, following the verdict of the Munich People's Court of that time. After years of uninterrupted labour it was now possible for the first time to begin a work which many had asked for and which I myself felt would be profitable for the Movement. So I decided to devote two volumes to a description not only of the aims of our Movement but also of its development. There is more to be learned from this than from any purely doctrinaire treatise. This has also given me the opportunity of describing my own development in so far as such a description is…
The Holocaust was not the result of Hitler’s desire for genocide, but rather stemmed from Hitler’s desire for genocide. Hitler’s desire for genocide meant that he was able to create the circumstances in Germany under which genocide could be possible, and encourage other individuals, such as Himmler to become involved. It is clear from Hitler’s first public statements made as early as 1920 that he had a long term desire for the extermination of the Jews “there can be no compromise - there are only two possibilities: either victory of the Aryan, or annihilation of the Aryan and the victory of the Jew.” This suggests that Hitler perceives himself as defender of the Aryan race, for the Aryan’s to be victorious the Jew’s must die…
Adolf Hitler was a man who could of used his intelligence for anything in the world but used it for much wrongdoing. Hitler made Germany into a fully militarized society and launched World War 2 in 1939. He made anti-Semitism a basis of his policies and built the Nazi Party into a mass movement. There were attacks all over the globe but the two I focused on were North Africa and Europe. One attack in Europe was on London in a blitz form, a blitz is when many planes attack at once. The first German attack on London was August 17, 1942. London used there might to fight back by sending bombers to Berlin but caused very little damage. Germans were shocked for the fact that Berlin had never been attacked before. Europe continued bombing Berlin in which many germans were killed. Two nights later there was still a European attack on Nazi forces in Berlin, Germany. The Germans nerves were shot. They conducted a Blitz on London, England for fifty-seven straight nights. The Germans bombed for eight months in all 18,629 men, 16,201 women, 5,028 children were killed with 600 unidentifiable bodies. An Italian Invasion attacked Ethiopia, Africa early in 1936. Italy joined Hitler’s Nazi forces. This lead to German Occupation of Tunisia, Libya and parts of Egypt (Morocco and Algeria were controlled by the pro-Nazi Petain regime). Thousands were killed in all of the gunfire of the horrific battles. The allies came out victorious May 7, 1944 with the surrender of all German…
Throughout the history of mankind, many leaders have come and gone. Worldwide top leaders that marked history are Apple Inc. co-founder, chairman, and CEO Steve Jobs, France’s first emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, sixteenth U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, Nobel Peace Prize Martin Luther King Jr., Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Margaret Thatcher, to mention a few. A leader that clearly made a statement and brought a lot of controversy during World War II was Chancellor and Führer of Germany, Adolf Hitler.…
The Battle of Dunkirk marked one of Hitler’s first mistakes. As Hitler wanted to conquer France, it had taken less than two weeks for the German army to make it’s way across Europe, into France, and force the French and Allied troops…
Hitler had absolute control of Germany by 1934; therefore, he had established dictatorship by 1936 to a total extent. By definition, a dictator is an individual who has complete control over a nation’s religion, beliefs, has physical obedience of their subjects and has no opposition. This description is correct in describing Hitler, because he had the power to make laws, dismiss the Reichstag, control education, the media, books, and to eliminate opposition. He established compulsory youth groups and trade unions in order to present and impose his racist and supremacy ideology. Hitler’s idea of ‘Gleichshaltung’ (co-ordination) was established in order to co-ordinate all aspects of political and social life. Hitler achieved this by eliminating…
Many who examine photos of Hitler today wonder how such a commonplace and in some ways comical-looking figure could have become the object of such mass hysterical adulation. Females especially swooned in his presence. Except for his pale blue eyes, which seemed to many to have a hypnotic effect, Hitler’s physical characteristics were in fact quite undistinguished.…
“Don’t judge a book by its cover,” this well-known quote is followed by many, however Adolf Hitler was not one. Today, many people believe that everyone is equal. If one were to judge someone else they would be looked down upon. However, this was not the case during World War II.…
INTRODUCTION Hitler, Adolf (1889-1945), German political and military leader and one of the 20th century's most powerful dictators. Hitler converted Germany into a fully militarized society and launched World War II in 1939 (see Federal Republic of Germany). He made anti-Semitism a keystone of his propaganda and policies and built the Nazi Party (see National Socialism) into a mass movement. He hoped to conquer the entire world, and for a time dominated most of Europe and much of North Africa. He instituted sterilization and euthanasia measures to enforce his idea of racial purity among German people and caused the slaughter of millions of Jews, Sinti and Roma (Gypsies), Slavic peoples, and many others, all of whom he considered inferior.…
Hitler and the Nazi party had a strong belief in Social Darwinism. They believed that each race didn’t have just have physical traits but traits that were meant for that race that made them superior compared to other races. The Nazi’s believed that the German Aryan Race had traits that made them superior to anybody else. Everybody else who wasn’t Aryan or deemed worthy were considered inferior. Races like the Slavs and Jews were deemed to have inferior traits thus they were inferior.…
